Anyone still experiencing a sulfasalazine-en shortage?

It's been weeks now since I've been able to get my usual coated sulfasalazine tablets. The non-coated alternatives I've been given don't work as well on the RA and are wreaking havoc with my GERD. None of the pharmacies in town can tell me when the coated will be back in stock. Anyone else having the same problem?

Hi mjrminorI'll try & help, but if it's to do the supply of Sulfasalazine sadly I won't be able to help. I take Sulfasalazine with the stomach kind coating which I've been taking for many years. I'm surprised that none of your local pharmacies have been able to help.

I've not had any problems getting my prescription. It could be a postcode issue.

The only suggestion I can give is to contact the company that makes your Sulfasalazine or the company who makes your current Sulfasalazine they should be able to help. I really hope you get some answers. It's very worrying for you not have your prescribed medication.

Thank you. As luck would have it, my pharmacy finally had a small delivery of coated sulfasalazine, and they've given me a two week supply to tide me over. They're hoping to get more in soon. If not, I'll have to go searching further afield. It's crazy there's a shortage like this when people like us depend on the meds to prevent getting sick again. Sigh...
