Love to know if it's not just me who's always a clumsy mess.
My worst habits are dropping things, knocking things over and stubbing my toe on furniture.

Yes I am. Never was. It goes and comes in waves. Very frustrating. Has led me to tears at the beginning of it all, but now not so much.
You do get used to eat, also concentrating and being in the moment helps me.
All the best
I have become so unfortunately. I have dropped two milk bottles recently, one empty but one full! That I blame on the arthritis (rheumatoid and osteo-) in my hands. Yes I stub my toes too and also bruise myself by walking into the corners of furniture. I blame that on my poor spatial awareness (had that forever) and deteriorating eyesight.
Absolutely!
I drop things, bump into things, trip and fall with great regularity and am never really free of bruises of one size or another. I also have a hand tremble, I didn't experience these things before RA.
When I'm on a bad day all of the above is worse, on a good day less troublesome. You do kinda get used to it, but some days the continual dropping of items does get me down.
Yes drop things trip over nothing almost like I just leave my foot behind. I noticed it’s worse when I’m stiff and my hands take time to close or grab
If I can drop it I will have a damn good try........so yes!
I drop things all the time! My deformed right hand is a lot to do with it but I'm clumsy as well...I knocked over a full cup of tea this afternoon. I've got worse this past year and it's getting on my nerves a bit now.
Me!!
Yep, never used to be clumsy but sometimes its as if the message dosen't get through quick enough to my arms, legs etc., or my bits dont move quickly enough all of a sudden ,so i stumble or catch my hand on things.
I do it all the time, on a good day I can dig the garden but can’t hold a sewing needle always have a magnet handy just in case. I also drop things on a regular basis could be a bit of peripheral neuropathy, another added extra!
Me too, constantly dropping things or knocking things over, particularly in the kitchen. My hands are particularly affected by RA and I haven't much grip left which I think is the root cause. It's so frustrating. My family are getting used to the loud expression of frustration coming from the kitchen, they usually call back "what have you dropped now"!!
One thing I have always remembered about being clumsy was from a cookery course I did many moons ago...”Never catch a falling knife”
I honestly don’t know if I ever would have tried to do that ....but the minute the knife starts to slip ......that comes to mind!
Lord yeah? I’m a liability!
Constantly drip things, burn my hands, cut myself when chipping veg and tumble over fresh air!
It’s no easy task, getting through the day 😀
I even had a knife fly out of my hand at a restaurant last year... I don't even understand how things keep flying/falling out of my hands!
Not just you been dropping things, bumping into doors etc for about 5 yrs now.
Doesn’t matter how careful I try to be either. One could put money on it - if I clean the kitchen thoroughly within a day I’ve dropped a carton of milk or a bowl of pasta etc down the cupboard doors or all over kitchen floor ! X
Another one for the clumsy club. If I'm not walking into doors or banging my head, I'm dropping things.
For me a lot of the time it's about grip - like I'll take a mug out from the cupboard and watch it immediately fall from my hand and smash on the floor.
My best work was trying to pull out a casserole dish and somehow managing to drag an entire stack of other ceramic dishes out with it, which all smashed to pieces on the floor. That was an expensive one.
Me too.....lol
I've been a member of the Clumsy Club for quite a while now, annoying, frustrating Club .
That's me to a T.. Also bump into things a lot also , cannot seem to grip like I used to. Forever spilling food on myself, when eating and trying to peel things is a nightmare. Lost count of the times I've ended up with more peel than potato.
Yes, definitely! I'm clumsy - bumping into and dropping things. My Mum, who also had RA was like that too - her condition was a lot worse than mine as they didn't have any DMard's back in those days.
I'm definitely there too, RA makes my hands bad especially the left one, cooking is a nightmare. Occasionally I'm holding something and it just makes it's way to the ground involuntarily.
Gardening is fine provided I'm a little careful where I chop things off, no fingers
Cataracts, not helped by steroids make things worse as they distort site.
On the positive side I can still walk and dig.
I love the term ‘Clumsy Club’ have broken a rib, bones in my wrist ( they also fused together..spontaneous fractures, and broken toes.
Yes I’m like this It seems things just fall from hands for no apparent reason. My hubby says I’m clumsy but I beg to differ 😂
Oh yes ! You can add me to the clumsy club too! I used to be a fitness instructor and could dance and lift weights to music ... now I’m scared to carry my little granddaughter as I trip over my own feet. Burst into tears yesterday when I broke yet another crystal glass .You have to laugh or cry ... I went for the cry as I hadn’t finished the gin that was in it 😉
Me too, emptying the dishwasher usually ends in disaster. Always stubbing toes and I only wear socks indoors as can't find any footwear that I can walk in. Never used to b elike this so assume its part of RD. 😊
Well responded the other day and today decided to break/dislocate 2 toes opening the front door with no shoes on!!! So yep still clumsy .
Ouch 🤕
Me too - all of those things and even worse when you have a cold!
I drop things all the time! I no longer trust myself with a glass, so now have plastic ones with a lid.
On a daily basis I go to pick something up or put something down and manage to knock something off - it's like me hands are not spacially aware 😱.
I know it sounds wrong, but I am so pleased that so many other people are the same - I was only diagnosed with RA in August and it has hit me like a sledge hammer......
I started on hydroxy about four weeks ago and had my second injection of MTX on Sunday - hoping the meds start making a difference soon 🤞
I know exactly how you feel. I am forever dropping things. I recently had to buy a new dinner service and a new set of mugs due to breakages. Unfortunately some of these breakages occurred before I had managed to eat the meal on the plate. Who would have thought that the short journey from kitchen to living room could be such a minefield. If I'm not dropping things I'm falling over or, on rare occasions, falling over and dropping things at the same time. It's sad to think that this body used to be fit, agile, and well coordinated. Those were the days!
I have become clumsier than I ever was before RA, also very absent minded - I can't think anymore, my brain barely functions..
To illustrate the point, I some around 3am, reached out for my glass of water, missed my grip and drenched my nightmares 😫. It was a cold surprise, and then I groped round in the dark looking for a dry nightdress.......whilst my lovely hubby snores on. Then this morning I went to pick up what remained in the glass and my stiff fingers promptly dropped it all over the pillow on the bed. Clumsy? Very!!
Oh my goodness you've just described me! I'm sure that there are lots more clumsy people! 😊
Just wiped up spilled apple cider....Definitely understand clumsiness!!!
Wow wasn't expecting such a huge response. I'm very glad to see it's not just me who's like this and I can relate to a lot of your experiences. Take care xx
My goodness I thought being clumsy, dropping items and misjudgement was just me since being diagnosed with RA. I am amazed at all the replies, totally get it, drives me crazy at times.
