Hey guys would like your assistance please

I seem to have developed patches of eczema on my ankles which is driving me crazy

I don’t know whether it’s because my feet are always freezing and I constantly wear socks or whether it something to do with the methotrexate

Possibly just dried out with the heating etc but does mayo e else have this at all ? 😃

I've developed a couple of patches of dry skin which gradually became raised like a rash but which aren't itchy. The first GP thought it was fungal but the ointment prescribed didn't help. The second GP thought it was eczema and the ointment he prescribed does clear it up but it keeps returning. I haven't asked since, just treat it each time it appears. Neither GP thought it was medication-related but its definitely developed since being on Methotrexate so I'll be interested to see what other replies you get.

Yes I'm on methotrexate and my skin is terrible - eczema on forehead and rosacea on cheeks🙄🙄. I have creams from the GP for both.

Mention it to your rheumy in case is psoriasis rather than eczema - sometimes hard to tell apart.

That's why I originally went to the GP. She said that psoriatic arthritis could change into rheumatoid arthritis but not the other way round so I haven't mentioned it to my rheumy - do you think that I should? 🤔

Is your GP one of the rare ones that has done an inflammatory arthritis specialism? If not, ask your rheumy - it can’t hurt!

Damn, I had a couple of f2f appointments last year but didn't mention it. I'll add it to the list for the next one - whenever that is!

Could it be due to contact such as Socks or other Footwear. I found Biological Washing Powders irritated me.
