RA in my feet!

Morning you lovely lot.... I've started to notice now, that when I put my feet together my right toes are a lot smaller than my left toes... They're shrinking! I tend to get a numb feeling in the right toes... I don't want my feet to start looking abnormal! They're ugly as it is! :-) anyone else having this? X

Oh poor you . have you seen the podiatrist at the hospital. I got lots of help from them and got orthotics to put on my shoes which have helped. My Rheumy referred me to them x

Thanks honey. I'm seeing my Rheumy in March, do I speak to him or can I speak to my gp as I'm seeing him next week. I'm going out tonight with friends and I'd LOVE to be able to wear heels again... So annoying! Finding nice footwear that goes with what you're wearing is very difficult lol xx

lol I just posted on my dilemma as to wear nice shoes last week! I went for not as high but a heel but thicker than killer in the end ! Maybe there is a business opportunity in this! If you talk to your gp ask him to specify a rheumatology podiatrist , I am not sure but my gp podiatrist generally cuts my nails but my rheumy one looks at how I walk and foot shape more xx

Oh did you?! I'd love to wear heels again... It's not just my feet it's my left ankle now aswell so don't really want to risk it! I will just do that! Thank you. Hope you're well xx

hi there I too have feet issues, toes spread and going east as it were. feet are now wider and one foot is turning right up throwing my ankle and leg out, with this comes a smaller leg muscle as I am dragging my right foot. fun and games, I still try to wear a heel occasionally..all the best

Hi lou

I have noticed a difference in my toes. I think with mine its where my toes seem to be bent.as when I put pressure on them they go back to normal size:-)

I too have the most trouble with my feet at this stage. I took a walk in the park a couple of weeks ago and ever since, I've had a lump just under a big toe. At times it feels like I'm walking on half a tennis ball. My rheumy just keeps telling to to buy bigger shoes so I end up with shoes that fall off with every step. I am not sure why the docs tend to think that foot problems aren't important. Good luck with yours and keep us posted on what you find out.
