Unless you have a infrared heat gun that is specifically for recording skin temperatures it won’t be. “Digital Thermometers use an algorithm to translate forehead temperatures to oral-temperature equivalents”. The general infrared guns used for food service, food processing, industrial, scientific and general home use are not the same calibration or accuracy.

Sure, but I would ‘t use a Black and Decker drill to make a burr hole in my skull....and all purpose cheap infrared gun is unlikely to be accurate, and could be up to 10 degrees out on your forehead.
