I have been perscribed 20 mg of Cymbalta for both depression and serious numbness and pins and needles in my feet making mobility difficult. Both issues have worsened since the pandemic. I'm 78 live alone, widowed. with no family and am nervous about starting this new medication because of the potential of side effects. We have no public health service in the states and seeing your doctor particularly now is very difficult. Any experiences you can share will be helpful.

Hi Sleepyscoot and welcome to the forum. If you go up to the top right to where it says Search Healthunlocked and type in Cymbalta, it should bring you up some posts from other people about it. I believe here it's called Duloxetine. Good luck. xx
Welcome to the group. Sorry. I don't think we get that drug here. What is it? I am so sorry you are alone and worried. Do you have a medical helpline for queries or concerns? I know US pays for doctors, hospitals etc but I don't know how far that goes.
A very big welcome from me too and you’re definitely not on your own or alone with this forum. If you’re struggling then try and seek help from your doctor but until then there is so much advice from people here and of course NRAS is the font of all knowledge which will perhaps help you to understand what’s going on and maybe help with some of the fear.
I have been on cymbalta/duloxetine for a few years now.I did have some side effects at first. The tummy issues resolved in bout a week.I did have to start taking citrocel for constipation.Lost some wt and that was a good thing.Helps with my RA pain.
I’m in the US and have been on Cymbalta for over a year now. My dentist had suggested I ask my doctor about it as it helped him. The only side effect I had actually worked to my benefit to contradict another condition I have. But the initial good help I got from it eventually subsided and my rheumy added gabapentin which seems to help. I have booked appointments on the phone with my doctor successfully instead of going into the office. See if your doctor will do that. Also, read up about how to stop taking it as you must wean off of it.
I have the generic. I have situational depression and worse, severe numbness and pins & needles in my feet, lower extremities impinging on even walking. It's probably connected to spinal stenosis and fluid on nerve root.
Wondering if this med helped anyone with that issue.
I take it you’ve had all your bloods checked recently too as defiencies in other things can also cause numbness ,pins and needles and depression.i have ra tooand when I was suffering from the above, everything was put down to my rhuemotoid not being controlled.partly true but It also turned out to be low vit 12 and iron.
I too had every kind of test. I am bow taking B 12. There's nothing positive about the numbness. I want to know what the chances are the the Cymbalta alone would help.
Please read about Cymbalta withdrawal before taking it. It took me over 2 years to get off of it and 65% of the people that take it suffer the almost deadly withdrawal symptoms that I did. I had to be hospitalized to deal with the withdrawal symptoms. Even then it was an additional 8 months until I was normal again. One thing that has helped me tremendously is a good multivitamin. Vitamin D is super important especially if you’re not getting out much.
Hope this is helpful. Hang in there. There are people here to support you. You’re not alone.
