Look it up on gov.uk
Basically if you are in a very high tier area , they will ask if u need anything. Otherwise stay away from people, unless you have to go to work or shops .....
In other words ...its up to you ....

Pathetic it is...my city will be destroyed jobs homes but yes if your high risk you can still.go to work..sick of it... so allanah does tocziflizmab mean I'm.high risk?
There was lots of advice on what drugs were considered high risk but as the pandemic went on as TCZ is one of the drugs to help those I'll my gp thought that lowered your risk. However your medical conditions count too so ....I have heart kidney and RA and asthma for example so heart drugs RA drugs steroids and these all put you at more risk.
So look on nras.org to see your own risk factors.
Personally on a drug that lowers you immune system I would definitely consider myself at higher risk than others. Interestingly it's the uncontrolled RA , age and weight that come into play too.
Complicated eh? For me whoever you are... avoid it.! My friend just lost her 23 yr old cousin to it and he had no health issues.
They are doing a briefing tonight about those who were previously shielding I believe.
Oh that’s so sad, 23 is no age is it
🙄🙄🙄just what I expected. My RA is uncontrolled waiting to start new meds. I’m over weight due to steroids I have managed to plateau but no matter how hard I try I can’t loose weight.By the time I’ve finished work I’m exhausted. I’m constantly on the move but have nothing left to exercise even in a limited way due to joint pain.
I think it's best to chat to your managers and gp about how they keep you safe xx
I had high steroid dose for AKI the Renal Dietician told me that steroids alter the metabolism so weight loss will be slow and don't eat after 8pm. Its taken me over 18 months to get within 5 lb of the weight gain. So do sympathise.
well it has been released no shielding its up to us and SSP from work as no direction by Gov't to companies who employ people who are on vulnerable list.
Yep about right... can’t get the health care we need to be stable and well so we can work. So unstable more vulnerable but have to work . Totally washed their hands of us.
Underfunded over worked NhS = suffering and death for many .
Nightingale hospitals never used why can’t they use these for Covid patients with army’s help to run them. So many Army medics not used in this national emergency. Hospitals can then be freed up for on going health care .
NHS paid through taxes yet we are not getting a service even before Covid.
That’s it officially off my soap box for the rest of the night...
I agree with you J1707. I have said the same thing about the nightingale hospitals. Silly me thought that segregating Covid care from other treatments for chronic conditions and new referrals was the idea of the nightingale hospitals. No ,instead people who need diagnostic tests and ongoing care are forgotten about and or put on the back burner. I've lost count of the number of people who have had appointments cancelled and diagnostic tests delayed because of the preoccupation with Covid19. Sick of it. I'm guessing it's because they haven't got enough staff to man both. All I know is that my husband now has a life limiting condition which could have been avoided had his diagnostic tests not been cancelled in March. I'm so angry I could explode. Sorry for the rant ☹️
I’m with you BF so many mistakes made in March all reported and acknowledged but still here comes the second wave and they are doing the same again.. nothing learnt..🤬😡 . They are worried about the economics but they way they are doing things is costing so much more financially and cost of life. Track and trace x2 has not worked . Job given to someone who is a friend??? And cost soooo much Rather than use a system that works and used by other countries at a fraction of the cost .
I’m sorry about your husband it truly is shocking how people like your husband have been left to suffer x
Spot on j1707 x
Agreed x
Really Sorry to hear this about your hubby, Bio. 😢
It's been a rollercoaster that's for sure Neonkittie. Still trying to get my head around it because he's always been so capable and strong. He's always been there for me. Now it's my turn and I have to stay well to care for him and I won't fail him. X
You will be that strong lady for him 💪 💗 When I was crocked with RA and over active thyroid going mad, my hubby had to have a major op and I managed to get up early with him every day and make all his meals and care for him and keep him going as he had done that for me for so many years with the RA. Your love will be stronger for it. You must stay well too so be kind to yourself. 😍😍 X
Hugs 💗
I’m an employer. There is a lot of info about higher risk people 😊
I am still trying to lose oral steroid midriff weight from three years ago. Hard indeed. 🤨
Look up team body project on you tube. Initial ones free on you tube . You can do them at your own pace.. then join by paying for more if u like it. Really helps my middle! The husband and wife are lovely.
Not selling lol just saying what I did!
Thanks for sharing. Our HR department sent this out today and a new risk assessment is required to be completed by all staff. I am still very fortunate to still be working from home which takes a lot of pressure off me. My medications are very different now compared to March so just seeking some advice from my rheumy team to ensure I complete the risk assessment to the best of my knowledge as things stand for me now. x
Thank you for posting this I can't see that RA is listed for shielding now. Seems to be a very much reduced list now.
More just been put up by Gov. UK on shielding in different levels. But there appears to be no shielding, just advice.
I'm not surprised in the slightest that there'll be no return to shielding. It's been pretty obvious to me for a good while that little was going to done to help those most at risk. Being realistic other than take the same precautions that we did during the national lockdown there isn't much else government can do for the vunerable, at least not for those who are reasonably mobile and don't have to go to work. I've said more than once that something should be done for vunerable people who have to go to work if they feel it not safe to do so, but there's no point in repeating it here again.
I never forget that I am fortunate and don't have to go out to work so it's easier for me to be careful. I agree there's nothing much else they can do for me and tbh I don't need it.Had I not been retired it would have been a different story. My husband still goes to work, as he did during the last lockdown, and I know he worries about bringing the virus home to me. We do all we can, and have never stopped following the strict hygiene procedures at home. I really worry about the vulnerable who have to go to work. They seem to be the forgotten ones: now there's no official shielding, they have no protection if they don't feel safe to go.
Much the same here MadBunny, I don't need any help or advice from government, vaccine aside that is! I'm probably more fortunate than you as my wife has also retired. I think it's disgraceful of government not to offer highly vunerable people the option of recieving some sort of financial support if they think it's not safe enough to continue going to work with the virus on the rise once more. I know how I would feel in their shoes!
Stay safe
Working extremely clinically vulnerable here.
I think it was just mad that I didn't have a right to furlough if I self isolated been in that group. Self isolation was a choice, as such we are only entitled to ssp. Furlough was and is the employers choice. Which all means me and others have had to go to work. I feel let down.
