Gonna give work ago

Had the last 2 days off things have settled down a bit so I’m going to give it ago. Rang work to let them know. 5 minutes later got an email to say reception class confirmed case of covid all reception class off under government guidelines . Our reception class have only been doing half a class for half a day for the last 2 weeks first full day Monday 🙄 it doesn’t bode well for infection rate.

Does that mean that you don't have to go in?!

in reply toBoxerlady

No I’ve been off the last 2 days and because I worked in class 1 last week so no contact with them . Haven’t told us which child or if there are siblings will chat to head when I get in. I’m wearing a mask wether they like it or not today .

I’m better than I was I started flaring Friday night I’ve had complete rest since . I’ve only got minimal burning in feet and one pesky big toe who is stiff as aboard now it’s manageable xxx

Thank you. My sons school

Just announced year 10 all sent home for 2 weeks along with teachers in contact with them. It’s all ages . I’m sorry BJ kiddies do pass it on.

Good luck with the test.

Kids do pass it on and also can get it. My friends daughter has it and is struggling to breathe. This virus does not pick and choose a time of day to attack nor does it look at your age. Anyone can get it and the worst is, those that are vulnerable are ignored. But a good thing is I will not have to see family I do not like over Christmas as this virus has given me a great excuse lol.

Oh the silver lining.. I’m with you there 😂😂😂

Talking to you online over the last few months has made me feel less isolated with this disease and it comforts me to know that I am not alone. So many lovely people on this forum who make this more bearable. Thank you so much for being so kind to me since January.

Look after yourself, I hope all work out well today.

Mask on and be strict with others and yourself don’t let people enter your space. That’s for the adults at your school for kids think good luck and fingers crossed x

I wish you the best of luck!😊

My closest friend is a reception teacher/Head of early years/deputy head (you know how it is in many schools - people have at least 3 jobs!), and she knew there would be zero chance of distancing with the little ones! She's always saying how much they just want to be near you, touch you, cuddle etc!! They just can't help themselves and can't understand it.

I hope you are allowed to keep your mask on at all times.😷😷

How was your day hun?

in reply toMs-D

I’m absolutely cream cracker. It’s hard wearing a mask .. I’m sure I’ve got oxygen deprivation😁. Head was fine about it. More worried about me coming back while flaring ( I think he’s done his homework) told me to take days off if I need a rest. Very good of him as he is so short staffed.

The child off with Covid displayed no symptoms. Her father felt under the weather and not displaying typical symptoms of Covid had a sore throat and felt groggy. His work sent him for a test came back positive so his and child were tested . Wife negative child positive. Head said himself very worrying and thinks we haven’t started yet. So mask on for me.

Did you get your test?

in reply to

So much going on and I feel its about doing what is right for you and making sure you feel happy/comfortable with it all. x

in reply to

Yeah your Right Dee such a difference from the last head .What is worrying is government directive no tests unless displaying symptoms not if family member display symptoms. So many going to go undetected true numbers can’t be recorded. X

Yes not everyone gets symptons and so many asymptomatic ppl walking around with the virus. Your head sounds like mine...caring. I had my test done and now the wait begins. Its not even 100% accurate so its scary and with 6000 cases today nothing the govt says makes a difference.

I feel for you - it's a challenge how on earth do you get kids to distance? it's impossible. Do take care of yourself and always put your health needs at the forefront.
