So sorry to hear this and truly wished we could be pain free and stop swelling/ flaring. Wow 26 degrees in your room already, keep hydrated and as cool as you can. Meanwhile, I'm joining the 'merry band' (not) of fluid filled feet, burning palms of hands and a body that feels like I've been in a boxing ring. So take care and lets get through the next few days as best as able. Sending some supportive wishes x

Same to you Pippy even the able bodied are struggling. Darcy barked at us at 3 this morning.. very unusual ran to the back door lay in the garden and wouldn’t come in . We had all the windows and doors open trying to get a cross breeze. Keep cool x

Thank you for your kindness, I hope things are improving for you. Stay hydrated and keep as cool as you can in this spell of hot weather. x

I know this is not going to help but we have got the beautiful Fen winds this morning and woke up to a breeze whizzing through the house! I have just come in from a morning coffee sit out in the garden as so lovely. Yesterday was our day puffer fish I was! Good Luck today get ice packs at the ready x

😔 I wish I could make it cooler for you. Is there nothing the rheumy could do for you or give you for when it’s like this to help see you through?

in reply tobubblyalex

NO 🥺wish there was

I know it’s probably a lot lot lot of money but have you considered getting a mobile air con unit for times like this. I used to live in a south facing flat in Luxembourg and the temp in there in the summer was really very unbearable. I got an air con unit that you could push around on wheels. You had to keep filling it with water over and over and It was very loud but my goodness it took the temp down. My ex has it now but I’m lucky I live in a house where the sitting room doesn’t get hot.

in reply tobubblyalex

Yeah had a chat with hubby last night. We are going to get one that is also a humidifier to help with my Sicca .. it’s all money with this disease

It really is not fair at all is it. 😏

What about a move to Scotland?? Then ... bonus... you could meet up with Kiki and Allanah 😁

in reply tobubblyalex

My older boys live in Canada in the mountains . That’s where I would love to go but health insurance would be a problem.. mind you I do like Scotland 🙄you never know 😂😁

It's 13 c here in Scotland just now with a high of 19c predicted, but bright and sunny.

Seriously I don't know how you manage in the heat, it is miserable. Cool showers if you can manage them.

Look up Appliances Direct good value and quick delivery. Ours is by Electric Q. I'd recommend cheapest we could find and had good reviews.

Yes I got up at about 5.45 to go to the bathroom and there was a thick mist, I thought to myself it's going to be a scorcher when this lot clears.

bubblyalex profile image
bubblyalex in reply torab1874

That doesn’t sound good... shouldn’t you call 111 and be helped... you say you’re struggling for breath?

rab1874 profile image
rab1874 in reply tobubblyalex

A bit better this morning but I won’t take any chances,if I get any worse then I’ll be calling them

bubblyalex profile image
bubblyalex in reply torab1874

Please do. It isn’t good to be struggling let alone struggling to breath. Have you got inhalers and ability to check your ‘puff rate’?

rab1874 profile image
rab1874 in reply tobubblyalex

No just my angina spray but it isn’t doing any good,I had scans done last Thursday but won’t know the results till next week

bubblyalex profile image
bubblyalex in reply torab1874

Sounds like you need help. I really would call 111

I don’t know if anyone on here would know if COPD is hereditary as my Mum suffers from that,I forgot to say that my chests clear as I’ve had a chest xRay, ecg next to come

bubblyalex profile image
bubblyalex in reply torab1874

I don’t but I do have severe asthma and if you struggle to breath and are coughing you can set off a full blown asthma attack. Please do call 111 at least. Tell them you’re struggling to breath. It doesn’t nec mean you have to go into hosp.

rab1874 profile image
rab1874 in reply tobubblyalex

I think I will to be safe 👍

bubblyalex profile image
bubblyalex in reply torab1874

Yes to be safe 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Marionfromhappydays profile image
Marionfromhappydays in reply torab1874

COPD encompasses a few conditions (emphysema, chronic bronchitis and more) and is mostly (but not always) caused by smoking.

springcross profile image
springcross in reply toMarionfromhappydays

Yes, I unfortunately smoked for many years and far too much. I gave up in 2004 and have never regretted it.

springcross profile image
springcross in reply torab1874

Apparently about 1 in 100 has a genetic tendency to develop it if relative has it. I have it but neither of my parents did although my Mum did suffer with her chest. My breathing hasn't been too good for about a week now. I was wondering if it maybe the SSZ but not sure.

Pippy25 profile image
Pippy25 in reply torab1874

Hope you are ok rab and are managing to stay as cool as can be and hydrated. I've had to have a lie down as I too was in the 'wide awake' club overnight. Take care

Just read some more of your posts after sending this, so don't know if you have had to call 111, hope things have settled or you have been able to get the help you need. Sending my best to you.

26 degrees Celsius at 6 am. Oh my goodness. That is our highest temperature that is forecast today here. It started at 18 degrees Celsius here and it now 23 degrees Celsius and too hot for me. I have a portable air conditioning on it’s way tonight to hopefully help cool me down. Set to get hotter again on Monday. I really should consider moving to Scotland with much more sensible temperatures. Really do feel for anyone further South as your temperatures are so high. 🥵

in reply toSummerrain14

I’ll move with you 😁
