We are at high risk

Not if we take care & take all possible precautions.

You can think yourself into being vulnerable which is obviously not a good idea

Not unless we decide to be. If you are healthy now, there is no need to think you are more vulnerabld if you take all the sensible precautions.

I work with primary school children. Am I more at risk? They are called super spreaders so as a precaution do I not go to work?

As I said .....take all the recommended precautions & don’t dwell on “what if”

I am probably a lot older than you and on paper probably much more likely to be a Covid19 candidate .....but I don’t think about it ....I’ve got more to do in my life than worry about catching a virus.

I’ve survived encephalitis, cancer & I’m giving RA a run for it’s money...so cheer up & get on with living....we will be a long time in another place...let’s enjoy this place for now!

With all due respect though..are you working in a public facing role? When we need to be in work , we can’t pick and choose what and where we go, need to commute etc. Hopefully there will some more guidance this week from the government and our employers. Even though I am certainly trying to be positive and get on with life, I think I have a right to be very concerned and not be flippant about it.

We all deal with our health differently.....after 20+ years I know for sure worrying about what you get next is futile.....if I were still working - as long as I was sure I wouldn’t Infect someone else- I would happily continue.

And I absolutely agree with you, and I’ve had many times to worry in my life too and we have no choice to get on with it. My point is though..what about people infecting us..I’m not all worried about infecting anyone else as I wouldn’t be in work and would be isolating at home.

I too work in a primary school in year one and due to start benepali next week. Im worried about catching any virus let a lone covid 19

in reply toMs-D

It’s worrying.. I know we are told to take precautions but we work with children at close contact and we can’t keep washing and use alcohol gel every time we have contact and kiddies sneeze and cough without covering their mouths it’s a battle we cannot win yet there are no guidelines to help us.

Schools may be closed by next week especially with the Easter break so close . You will be ok to start your Biologic without so many fears. Good luck.

It seems like the Scottish government may be announcing school closures to coincide with the Easter break

Can you explain your meds and condition to your boss? They have a duty of care to you. The government are saying that we all have to look after each other. I'm assuming that you teach? Maybe they could move you to a paperwork behind the scenes job? Maybe not, but unless you ask, you won't know? Just a thought.
