So: all dad’s affairs closed and finished. After 8 weeks alone with carers and her Alzheimer’s mum willingly moves into a care home next week and my delayed left hip replacement is tomorrow. What a dreadful few weeks. I’m off my Baricitinib and not doing too badly. I can go back on it in a couple of weeks when staples come out. Being off HRT is worse atm.🥵. Anyway wanted to thank you all for being there. At least having had right hip done 3 years ago I know what I’m letting myself in for. Raised toilet seats, dressing gown belt (if you know you know) and gutter crutches at the ready. 🚽🩼🩼 take care everyone.

Second hip replacement tomorrow
Just wanted to send you some supportive wishes for tomorrow. Take care.
I wish you all the very best for tomorrow and a rapid recovery. I'm sorry the last few months have been so awful. As the song has it 'the only way is up'.
Thinking of you and sending gentle hugs and lots of luck. 💗
Now you need to concentrate on yourself!! Best wishes for the op, do take care
I really hope everything goes well for you today. Sending lots of love and hugs for a speedy recovery 🤗💐xx
hope it goes well and wishing you a speedy recovery
Wishing you all the very best for today. Hope it all goes well.
Good luck Mml, hope all goes exceptionally well for you. xx
wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery 💐💕💕💕💕
very best wishes MML. I hope it all goes like clockwork for you and your recovery is as smooth as possible.
know exactly what you mean about the dressing gown belt! I've always used a leg lifting aid instead - bloomin' godsend!! Make sure you stick to all your post-op "precautions," and don't bend past 90 degrees!! Such fun, eh??!!😳😉
Just sending very best wishes for your surgery and recovery period Mml. Pleased to hear that your Mum has now accepted the move into a care home, one less thing for you to worry about. 💐
wish you all the best for tomorrow
I know from a broken leg ha ha. I hope all goes well and let us know how you get on. xxx
Glad things went quite smoothly (mother-wise). Get some nice frozen meals in so you don’t have to think about things and watch a few box sets. You deserve a rest. You have been through a lot x
Wishing you a very speedy recovery and a successful operation. You’ve definitely been through the mill and so now concentrate on yourself you’ve definitely earned a break from the stress you’ve been under. Let us know how you’re doing.
thank you everyone. I was first on the list! Had lunch; juggling pain killers and got a gold star from physios. Many protocols improved for the better since last time in 2019. X
I'm so pleased to read this. Take it easy and find a good series on TV. And as I'm told that the body uses more calories healing, I'd scoff as much fudge and chocolate as is available. I've lost 7lb while having a broken leg and doing little except slowly walking around so was worried but was advised last week its fairly normal. lol
I'm not volunteering to do it again but being told my bones are healing really well was such a boost. Little things please me....
😂😂sadly I put 3/4 lbs on last time. Artificial
Hips weigh more than your natural one. But not 3/4 lbs more. 🙄
Dors anyone know how much more (ish) an artificial hip weighs? I've been using mine as an excuse since May, but know I can no longer 'fudge' it 😂🤦♀️😂
about 2lbs more I think
Oh,I'm so busted then! Maybe my next excuse will be building up my muscle mass thru the physio? But no, I can't keep making excuses.
Hope you heal well and quickly...goid to know the hospital side is working better this time. And hopefully, knowing the score, your recovery will be even better this time
sending hugs and best wishes 😘
Good luck for a speedy recovery. It is not so daunting second time
so glad to read you've had it done, be nack doing the splits before you know it 😜
Some much needed time for you now
So glad it went well. Time for a bit of tlc. Take care!!
