I am on a methadone clinic. I have been on it for 6 years. In 2016, I started testing positive on the Dip test for Fentanyl. The clinic would send out the positive urine test to be confirmed. It would come back Negative from the lab. I am only coming up positive certain tests. The last test came back positive from the lab. I don't have any idea why this is happening. I am losing my take-homes this Friday because of this. I would appreciate if anyone has any idea why this is happening. I have not done Any drug for 9 years.
Thank you,
Jewel

I agree with Eiram, it might not be the most useful forum for you.
I have experience of running urine tox screens at point of care, not in a lab. We did have a batch of faulty tests that were giving false positives and I've also know this to happen with pregnancy tests.
In my experience it would be a good idea to speak directly to whoever is in charge of your methadone prescription and see if they can get a seperate lab to run the test or at least enquire as to when the machine was last calibrated.
I'm afraid that's the best I can offer.
Unless you are taking any products containing codiene then it shouldn't be testing positive for opioids because you say that you haven't been on any other drugs for years. Unless you have had surgery recently as fentanyl can be used as an anaesthetic induction agent.
