The current infection rate is low enough for us to change our shielding advice. You can now go out for a walk, wheel, run or cycle, if you stay 2 metres away from other people. From Friday 19 June, you can choose to meet people from one other household outdoors each day. You can also take part in other non-contact outdoor leisure activities in your local area. To stay safe, please avoid busy areas and stay 2 metres apart from everyone. Don't forget everyone needs to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds as soon as you get back home. Now you will feel like us in England , it's strange thinking , should I go out? where can I go , how do I do it safely .... etc etc . Here if you need to chat !!!!!
I hope we all get better tailored advice for health conditions, by 31st July, as was mentioned a few weeks ago. Meantime, the freedom we now have feels so very good!
I'm sure a lot of effort is going on to try to tailor advice to individuals. My case will be simple just methotrexate and Cimzia with no underlying conditions. Other people will obviously have a combination of conditions and treatments.
Saw Jason Leach on BBC Breakfast this morning. Such a good communicator. Obviously on top of the subject and able to explain things in a clear and unambiguous way. We are lucky to have someone like him advising government.
Well I went out for my first lone walk yesterday for the first time since mid February. I’m lucky it was peeing it down with rain and I didn’t see a soul as a result of it. I think we as shielders whether it be in Scotland or England feel we need concise information to help us to merge back out into the world. Got to say I didn’t walk very far as I’m not able to but I wasn’t in the least bit concerned which sort of surprised me. The last thing any of us need to feel is forgotten and ignored. Information is key whoever it comes from as long as it’s well informed and with our interests at heart.
