So it’s only for people living in Tier 4. But I think many of us in other tiers will probably shield too, if we can. I live in a Tier 2 area but it’s next to others that are Tier 4 and the hospitals we have to go to are in Tier 4. ☹️
HiGlad your keeping yourself safe. Does everyone with RA have to shield? I have only just started my journey with RA and have only recently started methotrexate. I'm unsure of what to do. I also love in a tier 4 area. X
Get in touch with your gp.and ask for their advice and if they should put you on the shielding list. If in your area it's not the gp then call your local council. Benefits are if you are working it gives you permission to stay home in tier4 and on the other tiers to discuss working from home if possible. Also they will send your name to supermarkets and you can get priority deliveries of food. And also be earlier for the covid vaccine.
Hi I’m new to psoriatic arthritis & taking methotrexate along with other drugs. I spoke to the pharmacist in my drs yesterday & asked if I would now be classed as having to shield & she said yes my name would be added to the shielding list, I live in Wales which is currently at level 4, not sure if I’ll get a letter or anything but as I’m new to the list & Christmas is on our doorstep not expecting anything in the post soon so just taking precautions x
Hi. I have the same condition and on same meds. I was advised over the phone by my consultant to shield but have never had anything official such as a letter or text. Tbh I never bothered shielding because I still had to work bit am careful and so far been lucky. Also advised to have flu jab and pneumonia jab but unfortunately the pneumonia is not available in my area until next year.
You live in tier 4 I take it. ?
Thanks for reply.Yes I do and I also work in a school. I will try my GP first and see how it goes.
Good, phew what's it like!
For me....very quiet! That's apart from the cars...the roads are busy!
Clare from NRAS has just posted a useful link to FAQS about RA and Covid and a link to the webinair
healthunlocked.com/nras/pos...
The FAQS include a link to the current advice re shielding 😉
I have added a link which should get you on a list for some help. Obviously though, follow the advice of the above 😊
Thank you for posting this. I'm in tier 4 but haven't heard anything yet🐰
It's crazy in my area. People just carrying on as normal!! No wonder Kent is so bad 😔
I haven't received an email but had a letter in November from government to say to shield. So I assume I need to shield again as live in the Basildon area one of the highest in UK and in tier 4.
Just had mine about a minute ago. Told to shield🙄
Just had a text as well
I got my letter too. I look forward to being home as working with kids seems even more scary now. How are you doing?
