Wet your pants time..........
I read that as plants... time to water ‘em!!!
Something that made me crease up was what I wrote accidentally in 1997:
‘I carried a small toyboy up three flight of stairs.’
Wel that was pre RA and maybe I could have done that... no energy left once up those stairs though, so no point in carrying him all that way!
It should have read, ‘I carried a small tallboy up three flights of stairs.’
Lovely aquilegias? Seed all over my garden x
Cereal boxes showing a competition. Win a cow!, it said. Said to Himself "well, you won't need that. You've got me". Colllapse of passing shopper in giggles
OMG i bet everyone wondered what you were laughing at. xxx
Just heard the name of a top bod at Rolls Royce. Warren Peace. His parents should be ashamed
My lovely Mum, then in her 80s, was famous amongst my friends for her slips of the tongue and I used to regularly have them in fits over what she'd said to me. Examples are:-
"She was wearing a lovely evening dress with a stool over her shoulders."
"When you go to Scotland be careful and look out for the midgets - they bite you know."
Bless her 😍
My husband banging his elbow so hard it bought tears (I didn’t laugh) ...but then him very seriously saying what he really needed was half a coconut shell to put over it to protect it while it heals ...... then I howled with laughter till I cried. And he ended up laughing too (best medicine).
I have so many I could tell that I could go on and on. My son and I are always picking up things in books that make us howl with laughter. In one book it said "His feet flew down the road" (imagine a pair of feet with wings on them). Another one said "He ran across the room and glued his eyes to the windowpane" (I hope he managed to get them unstuck again). Another one said "Mother came to the table and sat down behind the teapot" (was it a very big teapot or was she a very small mother?") Another one we have seen more than once is "She swept down the stairs" (I wonder why she did that at a ball/party or whatever?") There is a song that begins "I stand here before you, my heart in my hands" (I hope it was not too much of a mess). There is another song that has the words "And your heart will fly away" (oh dear I hope it flies back quickly).
I don't know if these examples will make others laugh as I do know that the two of us have an unusual sense of humour.
I have just remembered another time where I laugh everytime I think about it.
Some years ago we stopped at a service station and as I went into the door, a man was walking out and he stopped and said to me "Do you wear bras and knickers". I was totally taken aback and was just about to say something sharp to him, when I realised that he was holding out two bars of Snickers and that he was obviously asking me if I liked them. I said yes and he gave them to me, saying that he had just got them free with something he had bought and he didn't like them. Thank goodness I didn't slap his face or something like that.
They are hilarious. xxx
I still laugh like a drain thinking of this .. my friends and I had been for our usual monthly afternoon/evening meet up and we were waiting for my OH to collect two of us outside the restaurant and for all of us to make our way home. We stood outside waiting and I thought I saw my husband’s car turn into the side road where we were standing. I lunged forward and waved my walking cane, thinking somehow he hadn’t seen us and I caught the eye of a guy driving who certainly wasn’t my OH! He looked terrified as though I was about was to clatter his car with my cane! 🤣 One of my friends was so creased up and had to lie on the nearby bench .. she was helpless as she caught his (terrified!) eye too! I admit it must have been scary ... this mad woman brandishing a walking cane at some poor innocent driver! My friend often says .. have you been terrorising any people waving your stick at people driving?! Er no but that was funny. He must have thought I was possessed by demons or something! 😱😄
