Morning all, well here i am having spent the night down here in pain with my knees and fingers. The reason you ask is because i have started swimming to get my body firmer as i don't want saggy skin after i have lost all my weight. I also went in the garden yesterday afternoon and did some pruning of a couple of bushes. I did have some help from hubby to clear up.
I can't remember whether i said i had seen my doctor or not,so if i have forgotten i am sorry. She changed my drugs like the rheumy said to do. Now only seven mtx a week, tramadol and paracetamol now instead of cocodamol. The weight is still coming off as i am now 16st 6lbs, but everytime i go to weigh in i get nervous every time like i used to when i went to slimming clubs scared in case i had put some weight on.
The weather here this morning is very wet and windy which doesn't help my conditions thats for sure,my joints are always sore when it is wet.My finger joints are changing shape now and my left index finger by my standards is getting quite bad. Well friends i am not sure what i am going to do today, not much methinks. So hugs to you all.xxxxx

Nice photo Sylvi. What is that plant? Looks like it does like the rain!
Wondering how long you've been going swimming. I think it takes at least a few months before you're likely to feel better rather than worse afterwards. But that's from the inflammatory arthritis / OA side of things, I think I remember you have fibro too & I don't have experience of that.
Anyway, the determined way you're going all out to lose weight including exercise as well..... I think this has got to show a positive impact on your health soon if it hasn't already, as well as looking good of course!
Although personally I find that all my efforts to keep fit don't have quite the same effect as they might have before PsA ..... because there are always going to be some bad days. It's just that the good periods get longer and better.
This is only the second time i have been swimming so i expect to be sore. The flower is called wallflower. Well since the op i have lost over three and hald stone and i really don't want flabby skin making me look old before my time. Yes i have fribro and chronic fatigue as well, but i am determined since the hospital has done their part its up to me to help myself as welll.xxxxx
Wow I'm very impressed at your weight loss, and your determination ,what with the swimming etc... Well done you . We haven't spoken for ages as I got fed up with a few rules on here. Anyway I happened to catch a photo of you on a post somewhere and could believe it was the same Sylvi , so just want to pop by and say well done on a brilliant achievement . X
Thank you darling and like you i dropped out for a while after someone died on here she was a lovely lady and some of our posts got a bit racy and we used to get told off a lot. I have never left i just didn't post or comment on anything for a few months.xxxx
Me too Sylvi, the damp's hateful! Sorry you're sore. I've not had the inclination to go swimming for a while but when I've had a break from it for the first few sessions I just float & let the water relax me before trying a few strokes & build up finishing with "walking" the final length until I reach the bottom & walk properly to help strengthen my lower body. Still, swimming is excellent exercise & it will help your tone, needed with all this weight loss eh?!
I hope your fingers & knees ease soon. Do you have ratchet secateurs? I don't have enough power in my hands to use ordinary ones any more but as long as I don't go daft & do too much at once I can manage better with ratchet ones. Everything in the garden's early here too, no wallflower as yet but the narcissi are out & the bluebells are way ahead but not yet in flower. x
Good for you with the swimming. I wish we had a pool close to me that I could use. The saggy skin is a concern. Once I had lost 125 lbs, I was still a size 10 because of all the skin. My husband was very supportive of my weight loss and was sad that I was so unhappy with the extra skin. He sat down with me and devised a savings plan to save up enough money for me to have skin reduction operations. It was amazing, painful, but amazing. I went from a size 10 to a size 4 after all the skin was gone. Hopefully, your skin will just snap back and you won't have extra. But I had yo-yo dieted for most of my life and gone up and down so many times that my skin wouldn't snap back. Hugs and a "wonderful job" to you!
I am joining the gym on Tuesday and am going back to my swimming exercises to lose weight also, now I am off some of the tablets that give me the trots !!!!
I do think it helps although it is painful a first.
