My home is 44 bedded home . Charity based. I know some of my residents have died.

So far am furloughed which will come to an end .

Coming up to 60 yrs old with a mortgage. Home has positive covid . What happens after June 30th deadline? Could I be forced back to work?

If shielding you should not go to work.

The instructions given by Westminster tonight are incomplete and confusing 😥

Make sure you employer knows your situation, and wait to see what advice comes from government. As Mmrr says there will be more info eventually we hope.

People who live in care homes are so vulnerable. They can not control this but the manager can..the staff can.somewhere along the line staff are coming into contact with people with this coronavirus and bringing it back to these residents.sometimes we dont know who we have passed in the shops or streets who have this but I think testing should be ongoing in these environments. Clearly you havent got it but must remain at home.you are vulnerable with health issues .I fear for my daughter but she is fully equipped to highest level at her home with PPE even with face shields. They dont have the disease there. At another home nearby they do have it.I dont know if there has been deaths there but staff I know are so scared to go to work .there was no PPE there.A visiting doctor returned to his surgery to equip them with gloves. This they should already have.I used to be a cook years ago at a home and gloves and aprons were used then by the carers and domestics.

Sorry to sound so blunt . look after yourself and stay at home.we only have one life.but keep in contact with your manager.

As you are shielding you should have received a letter telling you to stay at home until end June. That will not have changed.

You stay home as you are shielding. Hopefully there will be more guidance before end of June for employers for staff who are in the shielding category x

Hi - it is really difficult isn’t it. I am also shielding but able to work from home (I am a NHS worker so working is via my own laptop on the kitchen table!). My understanding at the moment is that nothing has changed for us yet. We are still expected to be at home and not going out until June 30th. I fully expect the shielding to be extended after that date but if you are shielded and furloughed then this will need to be sorted out by the government before June 30th.

Please stay at home for everyone's sake including your own. Without doubt there is going to be another spike in the next couple of weeks. Stay home, protect the NHS, stay safe. x
