Very strange question. does your 'shielded' letter actually contain the word 'shielded?'
Myself and my brother in law have both received letters which clearly allude to shielding but nowhere does it say the word!
Thanks

The one from my rheumy department says "self isolate (shield)" several times in bold print. The one emailed to me by my GP doesn't actually say "shield" anywhere but describes in detail the same actions as the other letter does.
Another example of lack of continuity...
No it says don't leave home and stay within boundary of 2 metres. Blah blah and no visitors and sleep separately use kitchen on own and make sure a bag is packed with overnight things and a list of medications. Oh and affairs in order. Mine was re kidney problems before RA though. Wished I'd never read it. x
In my letter it says "shield" very clearly.
My letter from the Scottish Government does use the word "shield" except in part of a website address.
It does say that that I have been identified as person "at risk of severe illness if I catch coronavirus".
It also goes into full details of how self-isolate at home, sleeping in separate rooms, using separate bathrooms if possible.
Look at the wording in your letters.
Hi, I received my letter last week. It does not say "shield" at all but does state that I should not leave the house for the next 12 weeks and not to integrate with the rest of my family and to eat my meals alone? Unfortunately circumstances dictate that I have to leave the house to take my granddaughter to see her baby boy in intensive care as he was born prematurely. I have been doing this every day since the end of February. However he is due to come home on Monday, so after that I should not have to go out too much. I have taken extra care when out and I do wear a mask that has filtration so I protect myself as much as possible.
Hi, my letter also doesn't mention 'shield' but the instructions clearly mean to shield.
No. It outlines everything the Gov lists under shielding though. And it states ‘at risk of severe illness’ if get COVID-19, stay at home at all times etc etc Open a window for fresh air...
My letter from immunology says extremely vulnerable and high risk group. It suggests I have 12 weeks of isolation and full advice on this which is termed ‘shielding’ can be found on government website etc etc. But haven’t had one from government lol.
Thank you all so much for your replies, what a fantastic community we have here....
i had to wait until i saw my rhum consultent then i contacted my GP who issued me a note that said shield . like what some others have said lack of joined up thinking
