Coping with everything that's piling up me
I am so sorry to hear this FINNlin, have you spoken to your GP or consultant about this? Do you have family or friends to support you? I'm glad you have made contact with this supportive site and shared how you are feeling. So sending you some warm wishes, take care
Thankyou for your kind words,I'm on antidepressants and no I haven't spoken to my doctor since I finished work.I am the rock holding my family together at mo,as they have a lot of problems going on in their lives, they come first π€
Take care of you too as even rocks need support. I have been there and know that to be able to help others you have to look after you too. It is so hard. I have in the past been to talking therapy which helped me as I had no support network as the rest of my family did not want to know. The stress and pressure of trying to be strong for others affected my health and I was living on my adrenalin for decades which wasn't good, whilst trying to cope with my own illnesses. My situation changed unexpectedly a few months ago and now the adrenalin and pace has stopped and I have been quite poorly since and my body doesn't know what has happened. So please take care as you matter too.
Sorry to hear you are not well, thank you for your kind words, the only family I have are my husband children and grandchildren,no one is bothered.πsad to say,I try to think positive it's hard but some day I will get there.
I understand exactly what you are saying. I am SO glad that I retired a few years ago before I got this lovely illness. It would have been quite depressing to retire after working so many years every single day then get sick!
I kept falling in work and my employer kept piling on the work it got to much they didn't care,so I had to retire on I'll health π
I had to retire due to an earlier illness, in retrospect I should have applied for disability as I qualified for it from my job and from Social Security. Who knew? I didn't and no one ever brought it up until a few years later. I would have earned a lot more. Instead I just tried to make it doing other things, and I was unable to keep my house. Oh well now I live in paradise in Hawai'i (rainy paradise) so everything turned out fine. Except for the comorbidities... and the total lack of any medical expertise anywhere, it's really the outer territories people. Don't move to Hawai'i if you need medical care.
I can't like your post as you are struggling so much darling. HUgs.xxx
Sorry to hear your in so much pain,I would go back to your go and get some pain relief and take some time for yourself you deserve it and need it xxx
You say that 'they come first' in regard to your family. But if your body fails then you cannot help them either. You first priority need to be your own health, then looking after others.
I've always looked after my family first, that's the type of person I am .You are right,I need to look after myself ,to keep looking after them .
Hi FINNlin. I find that things have become harder for me since I finished working. I too have osteoporosis and osteoarthritis and was diagnosed with RA last August. I have to say though that it is the RA which has been by far the worse for me - I am nothing like I used to be. I was used to being fit and active but that's all gone now. Go talk to your GP, he/she may be able to help you with painkillers. I was having bisphosphonate infusions for eight years every three months for the osteoporosis but decided I did not want to carry on with them. The only thing about not being so active with osteoporosis is that it makes your bones weaker. Get advice from your GP on it or ring the National Osteoporosis Society (NOS) for advice, they are really great. Hope you get some help. Good luck. x
Iβm am sorry to read how hard things are for you. Are you getting any support for your osteoarthritis from your medical team? You need to be kind to yourself and look after yourself as much as you can so you can so you can be there for your family. Thinking of you.
