New Drug for chronic pain

Does anyone have experience of the slow release drug Tapentadol , please?.Taken 12 hourly for chronic pain. I would be interested to see people's different experiences of it and am going to start taking it tomorrow.Thanks

Hi Funswim , i took slow release tramadol for several months when I slipped a disc . I have a good tolerance for drugs and luckily i had no side effects . It did take a good edge of the pain. I was able to stop taking it gradually with out any withdrawal problems, I don’t think this is always the case .

I hope you get good results, do take it easy when you first start incase you feel sleepy or dizzy 🌸🌸

It’s an opioid so can become addictive...so do talk to your doctors about not staying on it too long!

I've been taking a fairly high dose of tramadol for a few years. No noticeable physical effects to talk of, but it has made me go a bit nuts! :-O ;-)

check out the BNF on it and consult your gp if you are prone to fits or have epilepdy.
