Is it possible for you to sit while doing some of your work? And/or wear a knee support while you are on your feet to stop it giving way?

Will try and get a knee brace

I wear knee braces. I sent for them from Amazon and they have made so much difference to the giving way feeling.

That's interesting. Can you tell me which one you bought from Amazon?

Where you able to walk freely without much pain to the worse knee?

I've got patellofemoral.

My knees feel better with the knee braces but I can't walk any distance as my knees are so weak. They were Trideer knee supports but they haven't been available to but for the last few months. Amazon say they don't know when or if they will stock them again. I have tried three different makes and they all slip. I have even tried repairing the original ones as they are falling apart now.

Thank you Bailybiscuit. Do you have you a knee diagnoses? I'm sorry to hear you can't walk any distance on your knees with them being so weak. Does it make you feel quite depressed, or much better when you have a knee brace that works without slipping?! :-)

I've had a look online, the only place i can find the one you like where it's still for sale and that'sin France. Here is the web-link if you wanted check it out.

How do you know it's a Trideer brace, it doesn't say Trideer on the description.

Thank you I will check it out. I was depressed to start with as I had a hip replaced and then suddenly my knees started to play up. I have been told it is weakness caused by steroids but I have also been told my knees are worn but at the sides and shouldn't have a knee replacement unless absolutely necessary as even with new knees they will still be weak.

I'm sorry to hear you felt depressed, i can understand. I felt depressed with my chronic knee pain.

I hope you get the treatment which you feel you want, even if it will help you just a little more.

Thank you but I don't think there is any treatment other than what I am on. Hopefully my knees will get stronger when I manage to get off steroids and after a while. My Dr thinks not but I have seen some people on here say that has happened.

I right now am receiving my 4th of five gel shots in my knees. They have helped some but the right knee is I think too far gone.

How do you get gel shots take it you are not in UK?

I live in New Jersey. My Rheumatologist sent me to a pain management Dr who gave me the shots. Good luck!
