I've come over in a very red rash this morning. No change in routine, eating granola and felt myself becoming very hot, then raised rash on face, arms, hands and a little on chest. i'm on Humira, Leflunomide, prednisolone, omipazole. I had not taken those tablets before this came on. Has anyone else experienced this?

Rash
Do try to you speak to your rheumy nurse she will know if any of your drugs might suddenly have gone rogue on you. If you can’t get hold of her call the rheumatology department where your drugs were prescribed.
If You can’t get hold of them either and feel you have a temperature try dialling 111 - they have qualified people who can advise you.
If they advise you to see a doctor that is the open sesame at your GP surgery ...they will (should) give you an appointment straightaway.
Hope it all clears up soon!
Thank you very much AgedCrone , it seems to be settling down a bit. Just raised bumps but the rash and heat from it is less. I've been quite stressed of late, I wonder if it was that. I might wait and see if it happens again first before contacting a dr, just in case it was a one off. I last injected Humira last Wednesday, so I'd be surprised if it's that going rogue. How strange....
I would get advice before you take any more of the drugs Endless-I get allergies to allsorts of different things ....and if you add more of what you are (maybe) allergic to it can get very serious.
At least please speak to your pharmacist .....in fact any pharmacist telling them what you have taken & what your symptoms are - you don’t want to get a really serious allergic reaction-something like you have experienced is usually/sometimes a bit of a warning...better safe than sorry?
Yes, I do know what you mean AgedCrone , I think all these drugs have horrendous side effects, it's hard to know what might cause what, I should think. I did have a blood test last week at the hospital and they haven't contacted me, so I assume it was satisfactory. I have them every two weeks and the results go straight to the hospital's database. There has been a slight change in drugs, in that I was on Humira originally, then like many of us, they switched me to Imraldi which was really painful to inject, then after 9 months of that, they switched me back to Humira and I had the second injection last week, so maybe it's just all the switching around. Or the stress. Sigh... thank you for taking time to talk to me about this x
Please do get some advise before you take any more of your drugs.....if they should suddenly cause breathing difficulties and you were on your own ......you could be in a bit of a pickle.
Of course you could’ve just developed a violent allergy to granola,.... sometimes if it has nuts in it...they can cause a reaction like you described.
But I’ d investigate what caused your rash whilst you are feeling OK...even if you just pop in to talk to your local pharmacist.
Please seek some medical advice. I have never had allergic reactions to anything before RD now I get them for ( since last February)no reason that can be found and now carry an epipen. In December started Hydroxychloroqine and sulfasalazine and am allergic to both. Don’t leave it better safe than sorry
Get advice could be drugs or even a virus starting up xxx
Thank you everyone, it's all gone again now. I'm so fatigued. I might wait and see if it happens again first...
x xx
Start thinking more about the muesli! Was it a new brand? Have you checked if ingredients have changed. If you made it is something new? Always a danger that we blame the drugs first
No not new granola, same one I’ve been having for months and with fresh blueberries, same everyday...
We can be a bit 'odd' at times! I've always been an allergy bod and had a reaction (swollen, numb lips and nose(!), itchy throat etc) when eating Tesco's 'fresh' dates some years ago. Pre RA so I can't blame the meds!! I had eaten them before but it was a new box. I was stressed at the time (on holiday but trying to field things for mum to get my dad in to hospital here at home) but no real clue as to why it happened. Spoke to a pharmacist the following day and then my GP on return. He mentioned sulphites in that particular instance. Sometimes it is the 'normal' stuff that tips us over every now and then.
However, sounds like quite a reaction so please talk to someone. Having had that reaction today, it could be worse next time. As AgedCrone says, if your breathing was affected you could be a little stuck . . .
You haven't started a new box of any meds have you? as in a new brand to you? I react to some excipients so stick to certain brands . . . just a thought.
Hi Endless. I have to say that I agree with everyone on here. Even if it's just a quick chat with your pharmacist (or any pharmacist), it would be time worth spent if only to put your mind at rest. Rashes don't just appear for nothing.
Thank you everyone for your kind comments yesterday, I confess (don't shoot me), I didn't go to my GP. I couldn't face it, I was feeling particularly fatigued and continue to this morning, can't seem to sleep at the moment. This morning, I went through the same routine, same breakfast etc and it hasn't happened again. I wonder, and I know the association causes people to get upset on here, but I'm 50, close to 51 and I wonder if the heat that I initially felt yesterday, could be related to the menopause? I had a huge feeling of inner heat and then came out in a rash, all over my face, arms, hands, shoulders and chest, with raised areas. I wonder if the heat then caused a histamine reaction? The thing with this 'diagnosis' is that I had a total hysterectomy (kept ovaries), in 2014 and I've been ill ever since with RA, so maybe it's already happened...
Well I had to go to the Drs to take my daughter who is unwell with really bad throat. So whilst there I did tell the Gp but she said something like ‘skin always shows up conditions quickly because it covers us but it’s most likely nothing’ - this is why I didn’t bother before... I’ll keep an eye on it.
