Hi everyone!
Really pleased to let you know that we have our first Webinar of 2020 booked in.
Its taking place on Tuesday 10th March, 7pm-8:15pm (UK time) and the subject is “Being Diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis” by Dr James Galloway.
Here is a short synopsis on what information is going to be presented:
Rheumatoid arthritis is a long term condition that causes inflammation within the joints. The last 20 years have seen phenomenal changes in the treatment options, and the outlook for someone diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2020 is much better than in previous decades. However, it is crucial that the diagnosis is made early and treatment commenced quickly. As a result, the journey of someone recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis can be complex, stressful and overwhelming for some people. Many people find that the disease impacts upon their work and social life, and feelings of low mood and anxiety are common. This webinar will review the early symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, and how a specialist rheumatologist can diagnose the condition. The session will cover what sort of investigations are usually undertaken as well as the types of treatments used. In particular, the link between physical and mental health will be discussed, highlighting what people can do to support themselves through self-management strategies.
