It means that there is something in your blood tests that is not right, and which could lead to serious consequences.

I’m surprised that whoever ordered the tests hasn’t contacted you, Anyway, phone your GP and/or rheumy department first thing tomorrow. And if you can’t get through phone 111 to ask whether you should stop any/all of your drugs for the time being. And make sire you stay hydrated.

I have kidney injury stage 4 egfr of 20% and its very serious. Do not panic though as function can go up and down naturally over time. Just make an appt asap and they will refer you to a nephrologist if any issues. I had all meds stopped but stress had no pain or other symptoms as a warning. The symptoms happened later and still are awful the tidiness etc.

Although I must stress you don't yet know that your function won't improve. Drink as much as possible and biopsy's do not hurt. They call kidney disease the silent killer but on the up kidneys can recover sometimes anyway it just takes time.

I was unlucky but its a long story and not for a public page. If you need to talk then pm me please. I'll not give you medical advice but can tell you that as stated above biopsys don't hurt and the NHS did move quickly once the problem was found. I was in hospital for 14 days then to a specialist unit for a few more and see a consultant nephrologist every month. AKI can cause temporary confusion and for some reason I had a shower with my clothes on, then could not remember stuff. But is temporary. Try not to worry but see the GP asap. xx

I also had abnormal kidney function results on my last blood test . Dr contacted me and on next bloods, beginning of Feb wants my BP checked and has told me to make sure I drink lots of water. Hopefully mine like yours isn't too serious .xx

My kidney function results were abnormal, GFR was 57. GP told me to increase my fluid intake for 2 weeks and have another blood test. I did that and it went up to 87

Sorry to hear that. Mine was ok on next blood test and BP within normal range which was good as didn't fancy having to take more tabs. All the best hope you get sorted take care xx
