I have been diagnosed with moderate RA. Has anyone experienced overheating after very little exercise? I don't exercise persay because I only have one leg. After I shower and dry my hair, I do a few breakfast dishes and the sweat is dripping down my sideburns and the back of my hair. Any asnwers would be appreciated. Right now I am on Humira and Medrol. Humira not working

Hello Mickeysmom.

I think it could be the Medrol causing that as it’s a steroid. I have the same problem as I’m taking Prednisolone which is also a steroid. Sweating is listed as a side effect of both. But I expect you need the Medrol if Humira is not working for you. So talk to your Rheumy about changing your drug.

Good luck.

mickeysmom34472 also get your vit d levels checked I was dripping from the head even if I moved an inch so worth getting this done too.

I get absolutely wet through - hair especially noticeably as it then goes all frizzy as it dries out! Even without exercise.

I've had it years but I had it even when I was just on hydroxychloroquine as well before all the latest changes of treatment (loads of those) and I think it is associated with the disease essentially.

I have red palms and soles of the feet (which also sweat - wet socks need drying out on the radiator at intervals) and lovely red cheeks, so everyone says 'Don't you look well!'

I have not found any solution apart from lots of layers of clothes so that I can adjust the level to the amount of heat I'm producing. Sorry!

Been on humira for about 10 years now and it’s the opposite for me. I rarely sweat even in hot weather, only if I go for a run I guess but it has to be a strenuous run! Reckon it must be the other one you take maybe?

Yes, I sweat too on exertion, sometimes without !

Looking back I've had this for years, a while before I was diagnosed with RD but didn't tie it up with RD.

It is not quite so bad now I am on baricitinib.
