Feeling a little nervous...

Having suffered mild anaphylaxis on my first Imraldi injection I am feeling really quite nervous about having my first Benepali injection today. I don’t know if I am more nervous about getting a full anaphylaxis reaction or what the consequences of that would be for my treatment plan. I just need this old body of mine to work with me for once on this and everything to go well. At least I am having the first 2 weekly injections in the hospital just in case...

As you are having the injection at the hospital I wouldn’t be at all worried...they have all the necessary drugs/equipment to deal with any sort of reaction,

I had a similar experience with my first Rituximab Infusion....but it never happened again & as the infusions are given in hospital....I have no worries.

Hello mhlmon. I understand how frightening it can be. I have angina. And ten years ago I took my first GTN spray to help it. I was out shopping when I first had the itching and hives, I had to go to hospital with my partner as I felt unwelll. By the time I had been in the hospital half an hour I was into full anaphylactic shock, heart beating thru chest, swelling etc, but because I was in hospital I was helped immediately. I had a consultant rush to give me adrenaline and cortisol injections. I was okay after just rest. Because I had had it once I spent the next five years being scared of everything I took, so I understand. Because you had reactions to first injections they will be aware , and will be prepared for anything happening. But it could just of been that particular one, Tell them your worry’s and wishing you well

I’m glad you are having the first two in hospital, that will reassure you as they can react to help you quickly if needs be. Hoping all goes well and do let us know 🤞🏻

The first injection of Benepali went without incident. Yeah! Onwards and upwards 😁

Sadly I have had an allergic reaction to the second Benepali injection (thankfully in the hospital). Will call the rheumatologist helpline in the morning to see what happens now 🙄😏
