fibromyalga: Hi i saw a rheumy last week and despite... - NRAS
fibromyalga
Maybe he thinks you have that as well as RA and OA? Did he explain why the MTX was being reduced? If your symptoms of RA are well co trolled, it might be appropriate o try reducing but you should feel included in reaching that decision.
Wishing you all the best with sorting it out satisfactorily.
My doc just put me on lyrica, on top of meds for RA. In my research, you are much more likely to have fibro if you have RA. I’m actually having much less pain after one week, less anxiety too. I’m hoping the Lyrica might help me wean off pred, which has been very difficult after being on a low dose for 2 years. Good luck to you! Do your research
Hi there. I was diagnosed with RA a d fibromyalgia at the same time as the rheumatologist told me that some of ny pain "couldn't be from RA" (eg leg pain) so it had to fibromyalgia. I have never felt entirely happy with that reasoning, and a lot of my so-called fibro pain got better when I startes taking methotrexate... so, who knows? Co-morbity with other diseases is not uncommon in RA, so it is entirely possible to have both. But it has also become apparent to me that RA, auto immune conditions in general (im fact many of the "invisible diseases) are still not very well understood and still have a fair bit of mystery around them. It's a confusing journey! I wish you luck and energy and compassion!
