I’ve had peripheral neuropathy for 15 years. Not one doctor recommended anything for the pain except the neurologist who had me try Lyrica which didn’t agree with me. I got progressively worse, switched doctors, and was recommended to see a rheumatologist who diagnosed me with RA. On methotrexate for a year and a half and got very sick on it and stopped taking it. Three months later a crown came out and I had to see the dentist to find out he was diagnosed with RA and also took methotrexate but a second doctor told him he was unsure if it was RA and had him try Cymbalta. At my next doctor appointment I asked her about it and she said let’s give it a try. I’m not lying when I say without exaggeration that I felt the pain leave my legs three hours after I took the first capsule. For a month I could walk normally, wiggle my toes again, swelling all gone, and no pain in my legs. Too good to be true, it’s stopping to help. Pharmacist said I’m on a low dose and to ask my doctor for a higher dose. I hope I can accomplish this quickly. It’s the first relief I’ve had in all these years. I know I have RA but just getting my legs back has been so wonderful it’s like a miracle. At some point I will go on another RA med but my rheumy said hold off for the moment. She will see me again in three months or I’m to call sooner if I develop a problem. I wanted to share this because I saw so many of you mention PN and foot and leg pain. I understand Cymbalta is expensive so I’m on the generic called Duloxetine that my insurance covers at a reasonable cost. I’m not saying this is good for everyone, I’m just sharing my story.

I take MTX, Lyrica, and duloxetine. I don't know what I would be like without all the drugs I take. I know what withdrawal from lyrica is like and it is not nice. Thankfully a emergancy dr gave me a script for it and within a hour I felt better.xxxx

I almost always react badly to medications. That’s why I was so happy with Duloxetine.

Wow, I'm so glad you were able to find some relief!

I suggest researching LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone). See what you think about it. The majority of ppl who take it, feel zero side effects, yet are able to say they feel generally better.
