Hi everyone is it recommended to get a flu jab?

I was diagnosed with RA/ Lupus (well all sorts of things going on) last November.

Depends on how your general health is, and what meds you're on. If you're relatively young, and in reasonable health apart from the RA/Lupus and not taking any meds that have a negative effect on your immune system then it may not be necessary. And some people prefer to do without and not put extra vaccine into themselves. However, for those who are more fragile it is usually recommended. Ask your rheumy or GP.

Thank you I will double check with doctors.

I'm taking methotrexate injections, hydroxy chloroquine.

If you're on mtx then it's usually recommended. But we're not doctors so do check with your doctors as there may be something in your medical history that changes things.

You can have it free as you have RA the flu jab only cover some strains of flu but I would rather cover some than none! Xx

Definitely ask your doctor. Different areas have different criteria for who gets on the list automatically, but you should be invited for a flu jab if you are on immunosuppressant or antitnf meds. If you aren't eligible for the NHS jab, then talk to your doctor about whether its sensible for you to pay for one (through Boots or one of the similar flu jab services). If you haven't had it before, then ask about the pneumovac as well - thats a one-off for pneumococcus.
