Colds - Sudafed Nasal Spray

Hi

When i get a cold i get very bunged. Has anyone taken nasal sprays whilst taking methotrexate?

If so, any issues?

Hi, used nasal sprays on and off for years whilst on Methotrexate. Have had no problems but just dont over do it and stick to the instructions. X

I have a nasal spray on prescription and use it twice every day - whilst on MTX. I've used it for many years.

I use Vicks Sinex for a blocked nose, always have & didn't change when I started MTX 10 years ago. Sudafed I’m always wary of as both ephedrine & pseudoephedrine can give me the squivers.

Speak to your pharmacist who knows what prescription drugs you take....nasal sprays can play havoc with other drugs and with your blood pressure .

I use sterimar nasal spray, basically just saline and it works really well but I agree with AC, run it by your pharmacist. They are the experts.

Hi, I am asthmatic and inject methotrexate. For my asthma, I use puffers and a nasal spray twice a day with no problems. Talk to your GP xx

I've the same problem doctor prescribed Beconase Aqueous nasal Spray, I'm on methotrexate so it must be safe. Been using it for a few days seems to be working.

In the end, i just skipped my MTX weekly dose and took the spray as couldn't breathe through my nose... still, i ll know for the future
