Well it was hubby's birthday today so he kicked off with blood tests and me prone on sofa as these damn arms of mine are so so sore the past few days so back on low dose of Pred whilst I wait to hear if going on Methx. I hate I can hardly use them in morning and late afternoon times.
We then had a session at his Occupational therapy at his work this afternoon and on the way home bought logs and aiming to light a fire and have a dram before bed.
He has his private neuro consult tomorrow so up early and off to Lincoln.
because the consultant did not have my bloods from local GP si decided to do his own tests as my sero positive and plus 75 was not good enough so I wait........
I'm there with you hon I am flaring like a crazy girl and not loving it. My TENS machine has been on every joint since back from hubby's consultant visit (the Doc was a nutter)
First type bad...doesn't listen to patient and has to be reminded bad marks stay permanently on their record.
Second type...buzzes you up, you know you're on the same page.
Talking of buzzes, hubby's nerve conduction tests, he'll get his share. Lol.
Nothing drastic.
They were testing my hands, wrists and elbows.
Bare wire loops around the fingers and a current sent through them, individually, with a build up of current.
Tickle, then tingle, then...well, seems they're trying to assess, bit by bit, shock by shock.
They put a probe on the wrists and a couple of places on the elbows.
I actually yelped with the elbow shocks, but my tolerance levels are probably lower than when I underwent the test about five years ago.
Oddly, it gives pain relief for a few days.
Don't try this at home folks!
Trying to hold out manfully, with the usual pain levels, 'til I see my rheumy nurse on Wed, but fear I may have developed a stomach ulcer (or return of my duodenal ulcer) due to Naproxen, which the Omeprazole was masking.
I'd never have known had the Om not given me kidney problems, which is one of the reasons I came off them.
Haven't told my GP yet...can't be doing with cameras down my throat or up my jacksy right now.
Wot a lark, eh? Lol.
I had a rheumy appt for next mth, but my GP phoned to get me seen sooner, due to pain levels, so the nurse gave me a call.
Heavily scripted for Trams, but giving them a miss right now.
Last thing I need is a battle with addiction further down the line.
Guess I'll jump in with the Mtx and hope it kicks in quicker than it has with others on here.
More experiments with anti nausea tablets, too, methinks, but who knows, maybe it won't come to that?!
Hope time flies for you and the 8th arrives with suitable treatment.
Gonna browse on here awhile and cheer myself up reading other folks' horror stories. Lol.
Nothing worse being in pain and feeling helpless, this disease really kicks us when we’re down xxx
Wel we had a very strange consultant I think I managed to get out of him and hubby their wording so they could understand each other but I have to say Consultant got there in the end but WOW he was a force of nature. So huby getting nerve conduction tests under his guidance and hoping some answers soon.
Me I got home to rheumy appointment no 2 so off to clinic on 8th Oct for nextstage of this delightful trip.
