I have been diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, and have started HUMIRA (2 doses taken). Before starting HUMIRA, I was somewhat fatigued. It was manageable because of a strong caffeine addiction. Now, however, the fatigue is unmanageable. I increased the amount of time I have been sleeping quite a bit (getting close to 8hrs a night now!), but the fatigue is near debilitating. I can barely complete school assignments and tasks at my job. Anyone else experienced this? Thoughts?

Connection between HUMIRA and Fatigue?
Hi ,I suffer from fatigue badly,it may not be the Humira as I don’t think the fatigue has got any worse since starting taking it I’ve been on it for about 4years.
Hope you get the same benefit from taking it as I have.
Regards Mike
I'm not on humira, but have been on a number of fatigue inducing drugs, some quite debilitatinly so. The fatigue usually does pass after a few weeks if you are able to stick with it.
Fatigue was my main symptom before being diagnosed with AS 2 years ago. My rheumy said the fatigue was caused by my body fighting the inflammation that was running unchecked. I am on cimzia, not humira, but I didn't experience worsening fatigue when I started it. It took 6 months for cimzia to make any noticeable difference, so you may find your fatigue improves in a few months time.
I’m always wiped out for a few days after my Humira injections. This disease, in and of itself, causes extreme fatigue. Hugs and hope it settles out for you!
