Shoes!

They're the bane of my life. Would appreciate information on footwear that doesn't cause painful feet?

The ones I find the best are sketchers. Others on here will give you more ideas. Hope you find some to suit you.

I wear trainers and approached my Rheumy team for a referral to orthotics- custom made insoles, they were an absolute game changer. If you haven't gone to them already I highly recommend

I've worn custom orthotics for several years.

It’s really trial and error at the moment fitflops work for me well cushioned but supportive some lovely designs and easy returns ( always check vouchercloud often up to 20%discount code) good luck

Ugg boots hotter or sketchers trainers & decorative flip flops for weddings when I’ve had enough of throbbing swollen feet 🥴 in ‘normal’ shoes. Also ugg sandals not cheap but hard wearing & comfortable .

mmmm very interesting didn't realise Ugg did sandals thanks for that

I can only wear Hotter Leanne - need ankle support and extra wide fit to accommodate overlapping toes, bunions etc. I had some insoles made at hospital but they were far too big to fit in my shoes.

In the summer I live in Birkenstock sandals. When waiting for diagnosis (for several months) I wore them through the winter too! Might take a while to get used to them but they have excellent arch support. Happy shopping.

I did look an idiot but was past the point of caring!

Greetings from another idiot! I have been living in Rohde sandals & more recently, their clogs too. I can't wear anything behind my heel.

I love Hotter shoes and their sandals range . Wear them almost every day to work . They even sell insoles and Wide fit shoes and deliver if you know the size . They changed my life !

For walking and shopping groceries stuff , I wear Sketchers . Managed to find both winter and summer shoes at Sports Direct - they are worth investing in and last long .

Hi Happy5, I'm another fan of skechers, I've always been difficult finding comfortable shoes, even as a child before RA. I started wearing them about 6 yrs ago and wouldn't wear anything else now, hope this helps

Best wishes sarah

If you need wider shoes try DB shoes by Widerfit.

Have you talked to a podiatrist? I found that the advice from the one I saw was very useful. Originally, she got me to take in the shoes that I used for various activities and advised me on which ones to throw out! I now know what to look for my particular problems.

I have tried Sketchers trainers and Hotter shoes which are ok. But my recent discovery is Clarks trigenic range. They are soft, wide and so light that its as if you have nothing on your feet. The shoes and boots are also quite supportive. I already have 5 pairs of various styles. Fabulous ! 😍

I believe in Reikers!

Hi! I wear Wolky shoes, they’re a bit expensive but I figure that if I’m only wearing one pair of shoes most of the time they’re worth it! You can remove the insoles easily to fit your own in 😊
