Jam & Chutney Making

The joy of us both being chef trained is we have decided to do jams and chutneys for a home based hobby/earner. I did one post on my fb page and 8 jars already ordered and only in development stage!

I have to rest, so arm chair based direction from me and sourcing local fruits etc. online.

But OMG Shawn made a lovely peach & apricot with fresh ginger and chinese 5 spice and I could eat the pot. Is that steroids or the fact its yummy or I just don't care..... its YUMMY!

Have a lovely weekend all whatever you are doing even if chair based and resting it still is a GOOD thing.x

Great! If you're up to it you could make a bit at craft fairs etc. 🍓🍏🍐🍊

I made the best Blackberry and Chambois and Crab apple and Chilli as well as Quince and Cardamon. Quinces made great Vodka and Sloes for gin. I'm a hunter gatherer not a Free From more like Get it for Free. I also have a vegetable garden so do pickles like Runner Bean and Kashmiri spices. So don't just think about what to buy but what is growing nearby. Green Tomatoes freeze well if you get fed up with making chutney which is usually the best seller at Fayres.

oh wow lots of lovely sounding things there. Hubby in the fields gathering stuff from hedges as we speak the blackberries are lush at the moment and looking at nettles too. It helps keep his mind busy as been off work for 7months undiagnosed nerve pain and waiting for neuro so a thing to do to keep him sane.

I make chutney, always used to anyway. Last lot was December and not been able since! That chutney you describe sounds delicious. Good luck with marketing and keeping up with demand too! :-)

Ahh chutney!! We had an apple tree fall down in the wind this week, loaded with unripe apples. I've never made chutney but was thinking I should try as I don't want to waste the apples - have you got a good recipe you could share please? x
