Wrist replacement

Hey, so I'm pondering the idea of getting a wrist replacement over wrist fusion. I have a lot of pain and limited movement in my wrists, they are partially fused naturally anyway, but I struggle with pain with simple tasks such as carrying a mug or brushing my hair. I know wrist replacements are not as long lasting as other joints such as hips and knees (had both my hips done ten years ago), but I'm curious as to peoples experiences with wrist replacements. Another thing I'm considering is straightening of fingers, is this something that's possible? I have swan neck deformity which I hate and makes things hard also.

I was at the point of replacement by a very enthusiastic surgeon, until my Rheumy very delicately advised me against it. Wrists so easily collapse, you will be extremely limited on use. My wrists have fused naturally, but my Rheumy was also against that.
