Aaaggghhh!!!! There is always something to set you back . Today it’s the weather.
Had a bad virus and after 5 weeks just coming out the other side. Back to work yesterday feeling really good . During the night started sweating and joints letting me know they are there, sleep disturbed. Got up sweating and body on a go slow and my ankle joined in so now limping . Cloud vey low with drizzle and humidity at 99% . So the weather is the culprit 🤬🤬. Now fibro joining in the party . … just can’t win .
Sorry to hear you’ve had a nasty virus and that certainly would affect your night temperature. As would heavier bedding if you’ve changed your duvet, etc. I hope that moving more and going to work can help regulate your body temp. I’m a former fell walker of 30 years (still could do a bit of incline as my upper legs have mega muscles even with the RA, but not been out to walk in the last 18 months) so I’m used to very harsh weather conditions and I’m quite hardy! I’m in the garden every day) and my joints don’t seem affected by cold, but the rain drives them mad with a pressure in several of them if we get multiple rainy days. I get hip sciatica and foot cramp when it’s perpetual November rain (great Guns n Roses song there!) Good side of cold weather for me is that my feet shrink a size and I can wear a lot more of my shoes!
Well done for getting back to work. There are a few horrible non covid things going around. Your weather sounds awful - where are you based so that I can figure out if it’s likely to come my way. I woke up cold at 5.00 this morning so I headed off to M&S today for a couple of long sleeved tops for bed - what do you bet I wake up melting at 5.00 tomorrow morning.
Hope your weather improves and you can catch up on your zzzzs tonight. 😉
Oh thanks . I’m in the Midlands. Your gonna need those long sleeved tops the temperature is going to drop tonight. Joints already feel better. 😁
Yep it was a nasty virus. I ended up in A&E needed oxygen and a nebuliser. 2 lots of antibiotics. I had 3 covid tests as Doctors were convinced it was covid but they all came back negative 🤷🏽♀️I’m sure I’ll go out like a light x
Goodness, that’s horrible. Glad the oxygen, nebuliser and all the antibiotics worked. It must have been scary.
Your virus sounds a bit like what my Pilates teacher is getting over except thankfully she didn’t end up in A&E - her cough has lasted three weeks so far and she still sounds pretty awful. She also kept taking covid tests and they were always negative. Some very nasty stuff going about out there.
Hope your weather is moving north. I’m in East Anglia when the wind comes from the east it’s like being in Siberia. According to my husband winter is coming this weekend. Just what I wanted to hear - not!
You gonna have to wear 2 long sleeved tops in bed next week might be snow for some . . Yeah the cough was horrendous non stop. I’m 5 weeks now and my cough still hasn’t quite gone. Think it’s got separation issues 😁. ..
I had the lurgy also. Five weeks next Monday! Blood test came back unclear? Possibly pneumonia!! Felt dreadful whatever! Just starting feel awful but voice is still not good well done getting yourself back to work- take it carefully!💚
Thanks M . Funny how getting back to work is seen as an achievement on here . HR? Well that’s not quite their take on it . I have to have a meeting as I’ve had too many days off 😏. School is a breeding ground for germs . I do my best . Wear a mask disinfect and wash hands . Hey I’m immunosuppressed not much I can do about it . Better not push my buttons they may regret it . X
It could be reaction or after effects of the virus. Weather doesn't affect my RA. As RA is systemic I think it would affect osteo more. Maybe a chat with your rheumy would be in order. I hope you are feeling better soon.
I feel you hun. I was in agony from the weekend as soon as the temperature changed. If its not the heat its the cold.....I got appointment to see my consultant after almost two years as only seen the clinic nurse. Hopefully they can prescribe some steroids for the swelling for my sausage fingers 😆
Hope you begin to feel better soon...just think 4 weeks and 2 days till holidays xx
😂I can’t believe it’s been so long since you have seen your consultant you have been struggling all this time . Shocking!! . Love your count downs keep them coming 😂😂x
Now we have 4 weeks and 1 day left till hols.....im not including tomorrow as technically thats not far away lol...
Yes shocking about my consultant but the clinic nurse is awesome. After covid and ending up in hospital everyone around me is annoyed that I don't want to be too socialable over the festive period. I don't think they understand this well....
Same here people just don’t get it . We have no idea if these vaccines work for the immunosuppressant. Rates are going to spike over Christmas no doubt about it . Roll on 4 weeks 😁
Thats the spirit!! Will give you a countdown everyday lol.
I am fed up with people telling me the vaccines protect you from being seriously ill. I look at them and think are you stupid...i almost died from Covid so I am being very cautious. I have upset 4 of my family members also as declined big festive dinners as everyone is mixing so much that I am scared.
Snap Christmas Day all my siblings and their children are going to my sisters in London for 4 day’s including Christmas Day . 2 siblings are flying over xmas period one to New York the other Italy . Feel sorry for my 18 year old son stuck with his mum and dad . It’s madness
Woken up to a bright sky, albeit cold. I feel the cold dreadfully. Really hope u start to feel better in yourself. Getting a good night’s sleep is key (not always achievable) as it helps u get thro the day. Take care
Thanks. Your right a good night sleep makes all the difference. The cloud cleared in the night and it’s cool and bright here too . I slept very well last night and now weather behaving 😁feel like a new woman. X
Sorry the cold not for you . We are so different. Keep warm .
3 weeks to go 🙌 Sorry been a bit slack with my countdown
How are you feeling regarding the new variant? Apparently masks are back in schools and staff and adults who come into contact with some with the new variant must isolate for 10 days. Can see everyone now dropping like flies in schools. I don't want to panic but am concerned how it affects us.
Snap we had 26 children off last week with covid with this new variant it is a worry . We have to take precautions as none else is bothered about the immunosuppressed .
Two weeks to go yay 🙌 I saw my consultant the other day and was told they will review my meds after meeting on Tuesday. My hands are really painful and swollen. Hoping for a dose of steroids to help as after 3rd vaccine its caused me more pain. I was told 4th vaccine soon. What the scooby....I don't want any more vaccines as the last one knocked the stuffing out of me....
Rant over....😆
How are you my lovely?
Hope everyone else is well sending you all lots of love and cheer xxc
Moan away J. Last night I fell fast asleep pretty quickly but at about 2am awoke with the.mother of all cramps in my left calf. It felt like someone was sticking a knife in it! I was rolling around trying to rub it away. Eventually it eased off by which time I was wide awake and so was my husband and probably next door after all my loud shrieks of pain. Today my left calf feels like it's had a good kicking. My husband says he gets a good laugh when I get cramp. So at least I made someone smile. Cheeky s**.
I have weather changes too. My friend who flies small planes is convinced it is air pressure changes. He used to ask if my ankle was hurting before flying to france 🇫🇷
