Upper Abdomen Pain continues

Two months on and still suffering with this stomach pain. Gastroscopy showed everything to be normal, now waiting for a CT scan.

In other news I’ve finally been switched from enbrel after 16 years to Benepali.

Second injection today, feeling slightly apprehensive 😬 .

I hope the change to Benepali proves ok for you.

Thank you, me too tho I’m not particularly confident reading other peoples experiences!

Yes, but sometimes you only get to hear of the fails and not the successes, and there may well be far more successes than fails. With luck the 80/20 rule applies - it's good for 80% of folks, and less so for the other 20%. (Yup, I know that's a gross mis-interpretation of the 80/20 rule, but hey let's take a little leeway here). So I reckon there is a high chance it will suit you.

I hope so. I’ve been in remission for 12 years, would be such a shame.

Are they switching you for the "reduce costs" reason?

Yes purely that. I think we were one of the last hospitals to switch so got away with it for a while! Was originally told it would happen in November last year.

My son agreed to switch from Enbrel to Erelzi, and injected that weekly for some time, but he was increasingly unhappy with it. It was mostly the change in the injection process I think, rather than the effect of it once in his system. Anyroad, they switched him back to Enbrel without too much fuss, once it became clear that he was likely to stop using the Erelzi altogether, as he was beginning to hate it in much the same way as he had hated his MTX injections.

Both my rheumatologist and nurse have both said to get in touch if there is any sign of a flare up so I’m hoping they will switch me back to enbrel if need be. I do take methotrexate but in tablet form. I’m glad your son was as looked after, seems a bit harsh to me including children in the whole switching process.

Well he's not a child any more, more of a young adult now.
