Evening. I am about to start on Amgevita injection which needs to be kept in the fridge between 2c & 8c (sorry no small o to put at the top side of number) I wasn’t sure what my fridge was running at so bought a Salter fridge thermometer.
I couldn’t get my fridge to read less than 10c, without ruining certain foods...So I have bought a fridge that runs at the correct temp. Think it would have been a good idea to be told to have your fridge temp checked out.
Did anyone else have this problem? 😊

I’ve never checked my fridge temperature. Oh dear 😊
Yes I know opening the fridge door ups the temp but the thermometer still shows higher reading than the meds should be stored , just thought it was worth a mention. 😊
Is the thermometer correct? Ie did you buy one that is guaranteed to be accurate? And did you measure at bottom of fridge where it is colder? You only need one bit of your fridge to be at the correct temperature (although better for you if it is all at suitable food storage temp).
I have a fridge thermometer because of basic food safety and made sure to get one that I thought would be accurate. Most of them actually say that they are only accurate to +/- 2 degrees!
If I put the fridge thermometer at the front I get a higher temperature because the door is opened frequently, i.e 10c. From the middle to the back the temperature is 6-8c. I have stored my biological like this for five years and it is fine.
