It’s fine outside the fridge so long as you use it within 14 days. It doesn’t even need to go back in the fridge, but must be kept dark.

Really, I was always told that Humira needs to be kept below a certain temperature, I even take mine in a cool bag with freezer blocks when I travel on holiday. That's what I was told by my supplier.

I’ve just posted the information about how to store Humira which you will find on the piece of paper that comes with every Humira pen.

You can also see it here

I was also told that when I began Humira several years ago. Since then the preservative has been changed and I think that is maybe what now allows some time out of the fridge. I still use the travel bags that you can buy for insulin though when travelling just in case.

Yes I think that is maybe the case. But I'm going to carry on using a travel bag ect, as this is the first drug that has worked for me I have had amazing results with it and it's great to have my life back, so I'm scared to change a thing..

I did the same and phoned up the delivery people who were really snotty about me not looking after my drugs properly and how expensive they were etc etc. At one point I thought I was going to have to pay for them !!!!!!!!!! They made enquiries and phoned me back saying if the temp in the fridge ( I had switched the fridge off by accident over night ) hadnt gone below a certain number they would be ok - I cant remember what the lowest temp - or is it highest temp ?? had to be before the drugs werent any good. You could phone them and check to be sure - it depends on how many you had left out - if it was only one dose it shoul be ok but if like me it was 3 months supply Im not sure ??

How should I store HUMIRA?

• Store HUMIRA in the refrigerator at 36oF to 46oF (2oC to 8oC). Store HUMIRA in the original carton until use to protect it from light.

• Do not freeze HUMIRA. Do not use HUMIRA if frozen, even if it has been thawed.

• Refrigerated HUMIRA may be used until the expiration date printed on the HUMIRA carton,

dose tray, Pen or prefilled syringe. Do not use HUMIRA after the expiration date.

• If needed, for example when you are traveling, you may also store HUMIRA at room temperature up to 77°F (25°C) for up to 14 days. Store HUMIRA in the original carton until use to protect it from light.

• Throw away HUMIRA if it has been kept at room temperature and not been used within 14days.

• Record the date you first remove HUMIRA from the refrigerator in the spaces provided onthe carton and dose tray.

• Do not store HUMIRA in extreme heat or cold.

• Do not use a Pen or prefilled syringe if the liquid is cloudy, discolored, or has flakes orparticles in it.

• Do not drop or crush HUMIRA. The prefilled syringe is glass.

I asked a pharmacist today and she told me if in the direction of the box telling that the medication must be kept between 2C -8C; then, the medication is not of use any more, but if it's written to be kept between 8C-25C;then, it's OK to use it. So, I found to be kept between 2-8, so I have to throw it and bring new ones. This explains why everybody has different information regarding this matter. Thanks for all of your comments 🌹
