My husband who is a carpenter has been complaining of painful, swollen tips of fingers. Went to doc who has done a blood test as he says there is an arthritis that attacks the small joints.
Still waiting for blood results. Does anyone know which arthritis attacks small joints?

That seems a strange thing to say, without stating the type of arthritis ?
Was it a GP or specialist Dr your husband saw Cheylann?
Many of the autoimmune RDs can effect the hands, RA probably being the most obvious, but also psoriatic arthritis, lupus and gout are other possibilities.
It could be something else of course, particularly with him using his hands a lot in his work. Let us know how he gets on ?
I will do. He saw a GP. Still waiting for blood results but I don't have much faith the answer will be there as all my blood tests were normal and I'm full of swelling and pain.
Is it just the tips of his fingers, or elsewhere on the hands? There is a specific inflammatory hand arthritis that only attacks the top joint (my sister has it), otherwise there are several types that go for the hands more generally. I hope you get your results soon.
