Why is this happening?

New to this group. Hoping to get advice.

I have been taking Vagifem low dose for 6 months now with no problems, my RA although lots of damage doesn’t bother me till lately. Sore slightly swollen hands and feet.

Sometimes when storms constantly build it happens but this has been ongoing for 2 weeks. Would Vagifem possibly be interfering?? Help

Anything hormonal could affect prescribed drugs....if it hasn’t been prescribed by someone who knows your full medical I’d have a word with your rheumy team & ask them.

I am not a medical professional, just somebody with RA but I use the website drugs.com and their drug interactions page whenever I need to check possible drug interactions with my current medications.

This should not stop you getting professional advice from your Rheumatologist and they should be aware of all medication and vitamins / supplements you choose to take.

Hope you get your issue sorted soon.

You don’t say if you are taking any other meds so I’m not sure what you’re thinking it is interfering with but you can flare even on meds still. I’d speak to your rheumy or rheumy nurse as they are the best ones to advise you. Maybe your meds just need changing. Hope you feel better soon.

I’m on placquanil, methotrexate and arava and my rheamy knows I’m in vagifem.

My last blood works were perfect so I thinks it’s stress, maybe hormonal changes and weather (humidity)do make my hands get a bit tight.

I will speak to him when he’s back from hols. Thanks for the advice.

Given that Vagifem gives such a tiny localised dose I wouldn't have thought it would affect your RD. However, in all matters medical, referring back to your health team would be the wisest thing to do. We cannot give medical advice here, just share our experiences, offer comfort and compassion.
