Ambience Mattress (air flow type) Bed pump- help

Hello

I was wondering if anyone has an Ambience Mattress with the electric pump. It's for a hospital bed. The mattress itself is a vast improvement on the last model my mum had but the pump is really loud. It sounds a combination of these a fridge/ desk fan / air conditioning unit. It's constant (that noise all the time). Is there a way of silencing it ? Or turn the volume down. The previous mattress was too uncomfortable but no noise.

For some reason it's not responded to ssssssssshhhhh or politely saying be quiet or screaming Shut up.

Any help appreciated

Thanks

I’d contact the manufacturers and check that it should be making that noise. Good luck.

I would ring the manufacturer. My mum had a mattress with a pump in the nursing home but the pump wasn't noisy. It may need replacing. Hope it can be sorted easily.

Hi, read your post, I've had one of these in hospital, it had a puncture ad was forever reflating itself every 5min or so, the other patients loved it, until one day it was replaced and peace rained again on the ward. If it's at home you could try to insulate it with rubber pads, place it within a bubble of sound deadening material. Last resort try ear muffs/pads or these new fangled speaker earphones that eliminate "white" noise.

Thanks very much I appreciate it. I think I will be going down the road of ear phones. I've used ear plugs but I can still hear it.

I think the engineers said wow we've made this great mattress lets make the pump super loud so no one sleeps 😪.

I was on a hospital ward with 8 beds all with air pumps. There was no noise. I think yours must be a faulty or inferior pump. The mattress did deflate slightly and then reinflate about every 15 minutes; it was to prevent pressure sores developing, it took a couple of nights to get used to this, the most comfortable bed I have slept in.

If it’s a recent purchase contact the retailer and have it checked out, it could be faulty if it’s that noisy.
