Hello

I’m taking leflunomide and also have hydroxy that I’m not happy taking . I’ve not took hydroxy for a while .

What are others taking with Leflunomide

I was on leflunomide and methotrexate and Enbrel/Humira. I don’t take the leflunomide anymore and have tocilizumab with methotrexate.

How are you finding one drug only for the RA ?

I’m taking hydroxy only not lefunomide... may I ask why you aren’t happy taking it? Was it due to side effects? I seem to be doing ok on it - 11 months now x

I’ve been taking it a long time . Last year I had an eye check at the hospital as you know it can build up behind your eyes . The thought of that actually freaks me out as there’s no way of stopping it or curing it . It just doesn’t feel right .

If you're not happy taking a drug you need to talk to your doctors as not much point them prescribing things you don't take. And I recall your medical history is pretty complicated so they need to think carefully about what's best for you.

People can take Lef with all the other DMARDs, and with biologics. So it's just what works best for you and as you know that's hugely variable!

Leflunomide, Methotrexate and Pred

I took leflunomide for a while didn’t help but then neither did hydroxy. In my opinion only my own, think lef.has more side effects etc to be worried about than hydroxy. We are all different what works for some doesn’t for others. I hope that it’s good for you and you can stay on it if it helps. I’m only able to try one dmard at a time and I can’t tolerate mtx. Good luck I’m sure that combination therapy is better than one alone and have to think that consultants wouldn’t prescribe both hydroxy and lef. If it wasn’t ok to do so. However you know your own body better than anyone so you’ll also know what works and what doesn’t.
