Been to my second appointment today. All things being equal am in pretty good shape right now apart from a minor atelactasis in my lower left lung.
No other pains or swelling. My GP has got me on antibiotics for the infection.
The rheumatologist wants me on Methotryxate long term but because of the need to see whats going on within the lung hes referred me for an urgent CT scan.
In the meantime, hes put me on sulfasalazine? with a three month prescription plus blood test in two weeks and a follow up with him in a month.
Lets see how I get on!

What is ‘atelactasis’? I’ve just been put on sulphasalazine. I’m at week 4 of taking it along with a month’s steroids. I’ve had a slight cough for the past 2 weeks. I keep thinking it’s going to develop into a full blown cold like my family has had. Is it the steroids keeping it from developing?
I feel much better joint wise and my CPR has come down from 79 to 43 since I started these meds so I hope things work out for you too. Good luck!
Hi..the atelactasis is a basically a deflation in the lung. The consultant rheumatologist is getting me to see a lung specialist to see how to improve things. I get a bad chest every winter since having pneumonia..
