What the hell! My elbows have all broken out and they're itchy - I've never had any itchy skin before can you get Psoriasis alongside rheumatoid? M x

Ooh, you poor thing. Yes, I developed psoriasis about six months after my RA diagnosis and they are both caused by the same thing - our immune system. Do see your GP about this and let the rheumatology department know so you can get it treated. All the best x

Try using coconut oil. Eat it and smother your skin. It’s the cleanest oil on the planet and if you put it in a vegetable based drink i teaspoon and drink it you will find after a few days it will help xxx good luck take care xxx

Yes, I had it when I started benapali injections, it has mostly settled now but still has the odd flare.

Some people have psoriatic arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. But some people just have psoriasis....let's hope that's you.

Wish it was only one but the RA seems to be in no doubt so seems like another ingredient in the mix! Feels like I’m mixing a cauldron at the moment lol M x

This happened to me too. It started when Humira stopped working and I had a massive flare in 2015. I still get it randomly and only on my elbows. I use hydrocortisone cream and put aveeno creamy oil on as it contains oatmeal which helps with the itch x

I get really itchy elbows from time to time and was told by the consultant that its something like cold sores and to treat it with hydro-cortisone. This is NOT medical advice! It works for me. After a few weeks of itchiness it all calms down and the spots and blisters disappear. Good luck.

Hi Marie sorry to hear that, one thing after another, this! Yep I had itchy chest rash with Hydroxychloroquine which cleared with hydrocortisone cream but came off it after 3 months for other reasons. Rang helpline but didn’t seem that concerned lol x

When my psoriasis flared while on Enbrel, my rheumatologist switched me to Humira. She said it’s better with the skin issues. I’ve had two injections so far and the psoriasis is almost gone.
