Morning all. I had planned to post this yesterday,but after the standard bearers luncheon i was whacked.
Anyway we was asked by NRAS to write to our MP about a depabte that was going on at the time RE; benefits for NRAS sufferers. Well i had a reply.
"I regonise that living with a long-term condition ,such as RA ,can also have a impact upon a person's mental wellbeing and i am grateful to you for drawing to my attention the NRAS work raising this issue.
As i understan, the guidelines @RA in adults; management', has recently been updated by NICE. This sets out best practice in the diagnosis treatment care and support of people with RA and recomends that patients should be offered greater psycholigcal support. For instance,through relaxation,stress management and cognitive coping skills to help them to adjust to living with this condition.
I would therefore urge anyone with a long-termcondition who is struggling with their wellbeing to speak to their gp in the first instance. The guideline can be accessed on the NICE website at the below address.

More broadly,tackling mental health in the UK must be a priority and ministers have legislated to ensure it is treated with the same importance as physical health.
It goes on about funding etc.n about money being put into it as well.
I went out to a Christmas lunch yesterday and a lovely time we had and we won a gingerbread house in the free raffle which was lovely. By the time we got home i was was whacked. I went and put my pjs on and sat on my recliner and didn't move for two hours,slept some of the time too. xxxxxxx
