Could it be the menopause Veronica? I got it just before my 48th birthday! My periods were random and I felt rubbish! The night sweats are typical of this condition. See your GP. Best of luck! X

I am 54years, was on hormones for years and years but came off them a few months ago, as it was thought from both me and docs I don't need them now, I don't get periods anymore.

I don't have hot flushes all night, just randon in evenings, they don't last, a few secs, and then gone, then my pain seems worse?

Thanks! I'm here randomly! ( I think) haha! Menopause kind of works like that. I'm 51. Still get night hot flushes and have showered at silly o clock many times. I think it's important to really think what's happening to the body and not to associate everything with RA/D. It's so easy to do so! Big hugs to the fur babies who also go through these things! :) Xx

Yes I get very hot at night, I suspect it is the inflammation, some nights my body is on fire. I also get very hot on methotrexate night, I inject on a Monday evening and often feel very hot and sweaty overnight.

I mentioned all of the above to the rheumatologist who suggested that she had never heard of either, afraid I don't believe her, but wasn't up for a discussion.

I was at least 3 years pos meno when diagnosed with RD and yes it feels like ive gone backwards as I do get hot flushes. I can get them a lot then not for a while. I fefinately relate them to RD. I also mentioned to rheumy who said he had no idea not come accross it before.

I have this and get sweaty at night so a morning shower sorts me out quite well.

Yes, it is likely just the fever associated with widespread inflammation.

It does seem very common. When I've tried to discuss it with the medical team, they either say it's the disease or the medication - or both!

A number of people in our support group thought it was the methotrexate - even some of the men were suffering. Needless to say the women were not very sympathetic towards them.

I had to stop Leflunomide as I got terrible sweats. It had worked fine for about two years then sweats and fatigue were awful.

I am 49 and started getting hot flushes in September. Both night and day. Also, I got a cold in September which trigger sinusitis and ear fullness. Both issues still happening now and have been ongoing. Not sure if it's different issues or if sinusitis is causing hot flushes but my periods are irregular to since September- uggg. Sometimes I just wish I had normal good health care. I was told to pray for the fear to be removed - it all just scares me.. hard not to feel good for months, wondering. If it's hormones or am I sick?

Both ?
