Hello Judith, I am in the UK and it's 2am! Typical night for me re sleep! ( the lack off) . Firstly, great you took the steps to accept to a certain degree for joining this forum. It truly has helped and supported me in every way. We are normal people living normal lives but like you, have developed RA for whatever reason. Your not alone in what you say! It takes some a long long time to come to terms with such a diagnosis. Trust me, this forum is a lifeline! It's honest, down to earth and full of support and compassion. At this time, I just want to reassure you. I must try to sleep now but there will be lots of support on your post in the morning. Speak again soon. Suzie xx

Welcome. It is hard to come to terms with having this, and takes us all time to deal with it. i do sometimes feel that you can't start get better until you do recognise amd accept that you have this disease, so hopefully life can now i prove for you too.

Thanks helixhelix

I think I am coming around and happy to be part of the team it's such a relief to know that I could speak to someone who will not think I am being silly

Thanks

Keep taking the pills even when you feel better I was advised as many people stop.

Hiya Keeta thanks for your warm welcome the crazy thing about this RA it can be a lonely and affect your whole body I now have vision problems and endless different treatments that don't help and damage your body like endless test and I hate needles

Thanks x

Hello, Judith and welcome. Nobody here will think you silly if or when you have concerns as loads of us here will be experiencing the same or have had to deal with whatever it is. Most people just don't 'get it', we do. Hugs

J

hello, you will get lots if support here, some downtimes but lots if laughs too ! welcome.

Hi Judith,

Huge hugs to you, you’re very welcome with open arms here. This forum is fantastic and is the best place to find empathy and understanding when you can’t seek it out anywhere else. I look forward to “speaking” to you in the future, Sarah xx

Hello Judith, you are truly not alone. If you want to chat to someone who's been through it all and has lived with RA, give the NRAS help line a call. They can put you in touch with a volunteer who will talk to you on the phone and definitely not think that you are silly!

I was diagnosed in 2009 and am in remission for the last five years. I lead an active life with very few restrictions. All the very best and stay in touch.
