Dr put me on steroids on monday as was having pain in fingers and neck. She also did some blood tests. My last lot of bloods in august showed raised RF Crp was normal then. She rang me today to advise that ESR is normal as is CRP RF is still raised. She is referring me back to rheumatology as she believes i do have an Inflammatory illness because the steroids are making my pain better. When i last saw rheumatologist she said that clinically i wasnt showing RA. Not sure whats happening. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

At first, diagnosis can take a while and it's can be a really painful and confusing time. Positives - it's great that the steroids are helping you! You may not be clinically showing signs of RA but you need to make sure you are telling your rheumatologist how you're feeling. Even the little things like lumps and bumps and swells and sweats. It all helps them build a pictures and maybe it isn't RA but telling them what you're going through and sparing no details will help them to find out what it may be a little quicker. You're doing great. Good luck at future appts!
Thank you for your reply. I really hope it's not RA I saw what this painful disease did my dad. I know there are many forms of arthritis. Just have to see how things go. Am so greatfull that the steroids are helping although am concerned if pain comes back in 5 weeks time when I come off them. 😀
