Flu jab

Morning folks. Probably didn't give myself enough time inbetween, had my adalimumab last week and flu jab yesterday. Feel floored. Just pleased I'm off work until tomorrow to try and get myself together. Just wondered if any of you guys have experienced anything similar.

Have a good day folks.

You'd better check with your Rheumy nurse...I only know with Rituximab you have to leave at least a moth after having a flu jab before you can have an infusion. After the infusion you have to wait 3 months to have the flu vaccine as It will affect the efficacy of the RTX.

If in doubt about anything that will affect your adalimubab..I'd always check first..bit late now I know, but you'll know for next year!!

Good luck!

Thank you for your reply. Gets so messy doesn't it? Can't believe I've had RA for 45 years and am still working out methods. Anyhow, all medical professionals kept badgering me to update flu vaccination, so I did. This year mg nurse told me there's one for over 65s and one for under which is bizarre. When asked why, she couldn't tell me. So am off to do some research. You take care x

Well I'm 25 years behind you & I've decided it's a bit like Pik&Mix...you pick a drug, mix it up & hope!

But if you're still standing & off to work you can't have done much harm can you?

If your medics were encouraging you to have the Flu jab they surely would have told you if you needed to,leave time between it & the adilumubab

,

Hope you don't wake up,with the lurgy tomorrow!

Yes. You're right. So much I can't take it's been like Russian roulette with all the different meds and diagnoses. Anyhow, can't moan, am lucky to be where I am and have managers that really look out for me at work. Not sure how much longer I can carry on for though as it's getting harder, especially as the weather is now turning. But we'll see. X

Adalimumab Is Humira an anti TNF I often have them both together without any side effects. The injection is fortnightly so difficult to leave much longer. Best to check with your rheumatoid team as what's best for you for next year. Take care. X

Thank you for your reply. Think it's because it was my first injection ever of humira last week and then the nurse at gp insisted I get the flu jab. So culmination of both. By next year i should be hard-core, so hopefully won't have any negative effects by then. You take care. X

Good luck with the Humira Loura. It was 3/4 months before I noticed it was working for me. I still feel a little more tired the next day after the injection. All the very best. X

Thank you, just keeping fingers crossed for no nasty side effects like some of the drugs previously tried and tested. So far so good though. X

Hi Loura, I'm on Humira and had a flu jab last week bang in the middle of the 2-week cycle. Felt absolutely lousy the next day, but then ok the day after that...so hopefully it will be the same for you, just one day of feeling, well, flu-y!

You know what MissMinto, I too now feel ok. Just got a weird tickly cough and a fuzzy head. The latter is probably because there's nothing in it!!! It's the time of year now though where everyone I have contact with seems to have some kind of virus or other. Thinking of buying a space suit. Alternatively, could just hibernate till spring!!!

Have a lovely weekend x

Haha you too. It's also the time of year when I look in my wardrobe and suddenly decide I haven't got anything to wear - everything's either too hot or too cold! Hibernation very attractive this time of year x
